5th Gear - no "Orgasmic Living"
Discussion
I know its sh1t but I still watch it.
Good to see the T350 in the GT class but no TVR in the British sports cars!!!! - the MG TF was included which I don't consider to be a sports car.
There was no "orgasmic living" logo on the 350 which is surprising unless it was filmed prior to that mistake and it must have been on for all of 5 seconds.
Also the Mini won the best British car overall. It's a german car and they shouldn't be allowed to put the GB flag on the roof. I wonder if they'd sell any with the german flag on the roof.
It's also a BMW which are supposed to be all rear wheel drive - odd???
The DB9 looked the bollox.

Because as they mentioned a number of times it was a review of all cars made in Britain, showcasing Britian's engineering expertise. It didn't matter who owned the company, In point of case the Japanese Nissan's were exported back to Japan, same with the Peugeot 206's to France.
It was not a British owned & British built review.
FFG,
Hope both of you are well....
I decided to drop in at Power on the way home last night, walked into the garage to find Jamie and Greg working away on this funny coloured white 5L Griff, had just started her up, it would appear that some pretty major internal work has taken place, sounded fantastic...
well done and wise choice.
Nice one

Surprising how the best car on the show was going to be offered for a prize and it turned out that it was the cheapest of the final selection ![]()
I maybe would have entered if one of the GT cars was up for grabs.

Sorry Paul but this is most definately not a German car, it may be owned by a German company but it was designed by us here at Gaydon and as previously mentioned, built at Cowley. I worked on it for 4years designing and packaging the interior. It does really piss me off how BMW have taken the credit for something they couldn't do and people don't know the truth !!

Phil,
Oh er hark at her!
I can accept that you are responsible for the dreadful interior on the baby BMW

This working for a german owned company has had far reaching affects on you.
For example; what is your nickname on here? Wixer (
) this may be an appropriate reference to you but I understand that it is of ....german origins???
And then there is "goose step" way in which you walk...

British industry is in a pants state but I'm fortunate in working for a profitable independant British manufacturer. The reason manufacturing accounts for only 16% of the GDP now is because successive governments have run it down in favour of service industries. High interest rates benefit the banking sector but cripple industry for example.
It made my blood boil the other week when the trade and industry minister (I believe it's Patricia Hewitt this month - another lawyer?) told a trade convention to stop moaning because they'd never had it so good.

Yeah, as soon as they said they would be giving away the winner as a prize I knew it was going to be the mini.
They even scrimped on the MINI. Tiff was hooning around in a Works Cooper S, and they gave away a standard Cooper, not even an S let alone a J.C.Works

Tis true Steve but, pray tell, what is the origins of your nickname ?? Chicks-with dicks, rings a bell. Anything you need to tell us ??
Phil,
Don't understand I am the v proud owner of a 4.3 (5ltr beater) chim....my initials are SG...so schimg was the logical choice (I mostly think)
The fact that ladyboys in Thailand are called schim's has had no influence here, and is a pure coincidence.
That'a a totally different BV conversion me old lad!
