993 Suspension… UPGRADED AT LAST!
Discussion
So I finally took the plunge…
I went with Koni FSD’s and kept my existing springs (They were fine, happy to take criticism for that decision!).
The result is a transformation of the ride and handling… If you have a 60,000 mile 993, then you probably need replacements.
Its noticeably smoother, the dampening is more like a new BM or Audi, kind of precise but firm… It’s obviously difficult to quantify the improvement in words, but my backside says 40% calmer-better…
I ordered and had the fitting completed by Balance Motorsport near Brighton, the owner is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and considerably cheaper than my usual Porsche specialist. I would recommend anyone wanting to follow the tried and tested FSD’s route shop around for fitting prices, I had some pretty random quotes, Balance Motorsport was the most competitive. Also he was methodical in his process…

It ought to be a legal requirement to overall the suspension on 993s at about this millage. The transformation is absolute and I fear many owners have never really experienced anything like how a 993 is supposed to feel.
I've never had any other car in which the change is so night and day.

Just about to take the plunge myself, somewhat a bit bemused by the plethora of different options available. I drive a targa so don't want some bone shaking, lowered to the floor rock like setup which will both wreck my back and the the eggshell like roof. Based on this I'm planning on the following:
B6 Bilsteins with HR springs
new rennsport top mounts
strut brace
new bushes where necessary.
Car has done 92k, and is in need of a freshen up but want to keep it compliant and slightly squishy, is this the correct setup?
Cheers

I was told by my installer that rear top mounts wear considerably slower than fronts.
It may not be necessary to change your rears during your suspension upgrade.
I suspect having new ones to hand and checking against the originals is pragmatic.
Good luck, the difference new dampers make is awesome!
Cheers
