2014 PORK plans ?

What do you have planned for 2014 ? Any adventures, purchases, upgrades, resprays etc.. ?
Me personally ... I will be doing my usual big european road trip (germany & austria) and a few mini road trips to wales and the like. I also promised myself to take the Gt3 to the ring and spa. No new car purchases till the year after sadly. No upgrades either but the GT3 does need new tyres and brakes and the 993 really should finally get its RS door cards.

wanna do a laet sep run to parts of the alps and do some of the passes. Question is do i need to change tyres from the current cup sports that is currently wears?Me personally ... Mine is actually to take a step away from Porsche.
The Cayenne will stay - fabulous car, and if I hadn't spent so much sorting it out this year I'd be replacing it with a newer one.
But I think it's time to say goodbye to my 996 turbo. I never thought I'd say it, but I don't think I see a 911 derivative on my horizon for some time - been fairly unimpressed with the stories of Porsche customer service regarding some of their chocolate engines. Time to try alternatives for me.

On the lookout for a project car in 2014. Not too sure about what yet, I do know it will be a P car and I am thinking it will need to be back to air cooled again. The GT3 will stay as a stable mate.
I am looking for something at reasonable cost to start with, then develop the project from there and see where it goes...

Respray the bumper, bonnet and front wings in GT SilverGet the front of the car covered with protection film to save having to respray again
Rebuild the LSD with cup plates
Road trip across Europe (France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Spain)
Road trip with friends to Paris and back
At LEAST one or two trackdays (if I can find one that allows a Hayward &Scott bypass pipe)
Upgrade coffin arms, dog bones and links with RSS products
..... The completion of the above will be subject to work/family/financial commitments

I actually have the replacement already - a 360 which I bought a couple of weeks ago. Turbo just doesn't suit me as a weekend toy, and with the Cayenne as a daily it doesn't suit what I need these days. May miss it though - had it 4+ years.
that will be interesting .... die hard Porsche heads moving to F is always interesting IMOPossible pitter patter of tiny feet, so the Cayman and my wife's snotter may become just one car - question is what? Had thought Cayenne, but had one for a few days this week and it was too damn big - mightily impressive, but didn't like parking it anywhere. So might look at the Macan, or perhaps a C63/M3/S4.

A trip to the Le Mans 24hrs to watch Porsche’s (triumphant) return to LMP1 and Mark Webber.
A trip to the Le Mans Classic to drool over 917s and 962s and the like.
A European ‘hoon’ to hopefully encompass Spa, the ’Ring and several Alpine passes.
Oh and I may put a large ‘PORSCHE’ sticker across my rear wing to mimic the race cars…

Winter cleaning of my old girl (that's my '88 Carrera 3.2 and not the wife!), heat exchangers, exhaust etc. Service/MOT & developled some creaky front suspension this year so that needs looking into...
Next years trips - usual Le Mans visit. Looking forward to Porsche being back as others have said. Old Timer GP at the ring, local classics inc Silverstone, Hedingham Castle. Would also love to make the Mille Migla...

I've just bought a 996 GT2 and have an Alpine tour planned, can not decide whether to take the GT3 or GT2. Need to get out and play in the GT2 first.
I have booked on the Alpine assault with Petrolhead Nirvana. Last year I did my own trip North South of Europe but did not get much play time in the mountains.
2014 hope to put some more miles on the cars and more smiles on my face.

I would like to start with some skiing trips to the Alps in my 997 C4S.

Dave, I know you've had a 911 of some sort (we met when you had just bought the white 964) for over 10 years now, so quite a change. The other day I was reading through your Cayenne posts (am thinking about one as well), so its interesting to see that in the end it stays and the Turbo isn't. I think you need a classic 911 next
