Technic Lego. Approaching 40, sad?
Discussion
Hi all,
Just saved from my youth my test car, and many other Technic Lego sets, from what I can gather, all parts are there, and although I do not have the boxes, I have the instructions for all. Around 20 kits from the 80's and 90's including the Test Car. http://www.toysperiod.com/lego-8865-test-car-vinta... the Helicopter from the early 90's. The Pnuematic JCB etc.
For some reason I fancy this. http://www.johnlewis.com/lego-technic-4x4-crawler/...
Is it any good?
Am I too old?
Reviews if anyone has them?
Would this on my xmas wishlist to the wife lose me man-points?
Any others you think are good? For instance, I'm sure I have seen a full on Rig.
Thanks
Wolfer

Sad maybe, but not alone. There is a 123 page thread on Technic Lego here:

Sorry, bit of a fail from a newbie, first in the wrong section, secondly, did not see the above thread!http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I think that the deal is now done then. I feel much better / happier / less childlike
I've got the Unimog too. It's great, but after you've played with the grab a bit, and pushed it around by hand, it's just an ornament.
With the 8043 Excavator, it's motorised and remote control so you've got far more scope for actually operating it and making it move around and pick things up.
If I had to choose one, I'd definitely go for the Excavator.

I agree but it's just too expensive now. Just loads of sellers that have kept stock back and now chucked £100 on the price. With the 8043 Excavator, it's motorised and remote control so you've got far more scope for actually operating it and making it move around and pick things up.

I'd get this years top model the Mobile Crane 42009, very nice bit of kit.

Ace build, you need to concentrate but very cool when it all works.
Lego is never sad :-)
Iam 43, but when my Mrs asked what I wanted for Christmas this year, the list consisted of Technic Lego and a remote control James Bond DB5 (Cant afford a real one :-) ).
Never worry about your age or what people think, just have fun and never stop playing with toys.
