I have one very nice car, but I still have this nagging feeling that I should get rid of it and find something I enjoy instead, as any normal petrolhead they come and go but this time it seems to be sticking. So options below and I'll try to be as clear as possible;

1- Sell it in the NY and get 2 cars, 1 boring cheap one (think old Pug 205/6, ancient volvo's) and one fun one that could do longer runs (Anything really, but I like 300ZX's atm)

2- Keep current car, run it till it explodes, save up for a fun car(s) that can do both and see what I can get in a few years time (Impreza/Evo X)

3- Swap current car for a manual of similar ilk, get 1x cheap fun car (high mileage DC2)

Current car annoyances: Auto (I just prefer a manual) Mileage (I should've bought a petrol) Value (normal ever decreasing, about £5-£7k)

Current car positives: unbelievably comfortable, ergonomically brilliant, subjectively I like the styling/power etc

External things;

-Buying a house next year (No house money will be touched for cars)
-do about 20miles per day to and from work
-own a garage but no power in it and it's quite tight
-12/15k pa
-I don't like MX-5's, M3/5's or 911's (I suppose I should delete my account really biglaugh)

I open it to the floor

A 300ZX would be perfect, a huge sports car where the bonnet disappears from view, giving all the benefits of not being too practical and none of the drawbacks like being easy to park.

Bonus points for being awkward to drive in snow too, so add a massive laggy turbo (or turbos...) that kicks in at random points to keep people on their toes.

Hence why I was thinking of having two cars... to add to your list. They also rust, the engine bay is ridiculously tight and they are mostly 15 years old. Some come with the early HICAS 4 wheel steering just to make sure that turbo's aren't the only thing keeping people on their toes.

To add my current car is just as awkward to see out/park and has the added bonus of looking like a saloon with a boot that could fit all of not 1 but 2 toothpicks. It is also a twin turbo which despite not being laggy, the lovely auto creates the lag, so my rear get all that lovely diesel and turbo torque in one lump. So really I'm not losing out much haha

Also, I only do the dishes and the cars, plus if I just say "babe" then it doesn't matter who I'm in the dark with smile

EP3 Type R, big exhaust and a baseball cap. Drive slowly past all her mates. Talk endlessly about "VTEC" at parties.

Should ensure a quick divorce! biggrin

In all seriousness, super sensible estate, something swedish and comfortable, and try and find a non-ruined 300ZX. Considered a Skyline at all?

I was thinking a old V70 estate. I had considered the Skyline but they're even more expensive to buy/maintain than the 300's. Would love an original R32 though...
