Just put a deposit down on a GT3 for sale at OPC Swindon 
I've been asked if I would like the car treating with Autoglym Lifeshine. Is this worth having done? I've had a couple of cars treated with similar stuff by dealers in the past and it's been ok, but nothing more. Also, what's it worth - they were asking £400+, a quick search suggests Audi would charge £200 ish and you can get the product off eBay for £not much.

A good detailer will be £250 inc materials. They will take the swirls out etc and you will absolutely amazed at the difference. £400 is way to much. Put what you have saved to a paintshield such as XPEL http://www.paintshield.co.uk/ultimate-paint-protec...
Thanks, that's what I was thinking but now you've convinced me - I'll put the money in to a good detail. Paintshield (etc) though is a different question. I've always thought in the past that I'd spend the money on a re spray if needed, but I've never needed to yet...?
I'm picking up next weekend so I'll get some pictures posted after that.
I have another issue to ponder over... I have a spare set of wheels in black. I'm not convinced about black wheels on a white car, so I'm thinking of changing the colour to the the silver/grey of the 991 gt3, or perhaps the gold seen on the 997.2 rs
I know I should be considering manly things like geo options etc. but got to get the look right first

Tex, been busy then?! The life shine kits cost the dealers aboutv £25 & the rest is profit. ...enough said? Life shine is purely a polish based product & if the car is well prepped you should be able to get it detailed after you get it & then a few visits from a detailer to wash it for you for thw same money.

Yes, this is my solution to needing harnesses, decided it was better than fitting a cage / harness bar in my current car. Good advice, but are you suggesting I never clean my cars...
