Last year I remember having to scour the countryside looking for a tree and once again it looks
like I'll be in the same position. After a tour yesterday I've found that a lot of the places
that sold trees no longer do and the ones that have trees only have up to 6'.

So question to PH....where are all the 8' trees in South Lanarkshire?

They've been first hacked by Andrew[MG]'s axe then, once his girly wrists were sore, felled with his chainsaw! hehe

LSSmellie's at Strathaven Rural Centre ML10 6SY 01357520211 or Brian Young's Garden Centre Newtonside Strathaven, both usually have plenty.

No.

Once his girly wrists got sore he called me and used brute strength and a lot of swearing to get it finished.

He can't fell any trees yet, not got an extension cord long enough as he went for an electric one

Presume you've tried all the garden centres down the Clyde Valley - we got ours from one down there during the week and they had a good selection of big ones...might be worth a few phone calls.

Try these guys ... limited pick ups, but profits go to good causes. We've used them the last few years - the trees are good, don't shed much and last for ages.

Cheers folks, Just picked one up from Strathaven Rural Centre, hadn't even thought of them.
Thanks TheVet, assume you work next door?.

So wife impressed, probably more with the fact that I managed to drive past the rugby club
without dropping in for the afternoon!!

Got mines up the hills the other night. Excellent choice from 6' to 30'. All I needed was my van, head torch and a good saw.

I paid £28+vat for an 8'. They're closed on a Sunday though I think.

Sounds good. Guess I'll have to call tomorrow to check opening times through the week. Was going to do the Christmas Tree run with the kids this afternoon though. Oh well.
