I hear this is the best in the country and looking at possibly joining up with a group to do this.
Can anyone share experiences on this please?

I have done the thruxton ferrari day for £250 some 13yrs ago and as ok, but not amazing.

You guys:

CraigyMc, mcsam, ConorD or DrivinMeNuts...?

Done 2 this year and they are the best, instructors encourage you to do your best, no rev restrictions, great selection of cars on good tracks, minimal waiting between driving and even excellent catering
Can't recommend them enough

They are great fun and although not cheap they are very good value.

The full day is the best and make the most if the single seater drive as it goes really fast and you don't really get used to the downforce grip until its all over.

Certainly better than using your own car if you have the money, although I'd say it's not far off the cost of a trAckday in your own car if it is a nice one rather than a bin.
