I've not bought a new games in years and have stumbled on

The last of US.
Is this a game worth buying? I guess second hand now its going to be cheap

Also apart from GT5 is there a project Gotham equivalent?

What would be in most people's top 5 games?

Top 5

Far cry 3
Assassins creed brotherhood
Skyrim
GTA V
just cause 2

The last of us is a great game but it's more an interactive movie than an open world game. But incredible graphics and it pushes the ps3 to its limit.

I prefer to drive than play driving games.............

Of course, if I had a real F1 simulator that might change....

GT6 is now the best all round racing game out there, forget GT5.
Red Dead Redemption is better than GTA V in my opinion.
GTA V is still epic though.
Metal Gear Solid 4
Far Cry 3.

Best Halo equivalent?

GT6 might be a stocking filer for me

Also I've never owned motorstorm I guess all three of those now can be bought £10the lot and are a lot of fun (though not a true drivers game)

Others have said it, but Red Dead Redemption is a must. Played on a big HD TV, the scenery is immense & the game just sucks you in.

Metal Gear Solid is definitely worth a look at as is Skyrim. GTA5 is also very good.

What sort of games do you like - the system is a few years old & has loads of games for it so recommending games for you is a bit difficult!

I've been a fan of the following games

Halo
Forza
Project Gotham
GT5
Medal of honour
Golf (Links xbox)
Unreal Championship
Call of duty Modern Warfare
Bio shock 1
Outlaw Golf - appreciate its much more a kids type of game than pro golf types but I like the fun aspect
Mario Kart
Death Race 2000
Micro machines
Toca touring cars - this on the xbox original was superb 14 online players all types of car and track racing. Ozzie V8 series epic I spent an inordinate amount of time playing this and had a weekly championship 12 tracks over 12 weeks and you have 1 week to reverse the track (driver ratings were over a certain level meaning only good players on it)

GRID then. Not the 2nd one - the original one. I bet you can pick it up pre-owned off Amazon for a couple of quid & it's great fun.

The Last of Us is possibly the best game of this generation.

Not sure where the interactive movie comment comes from, the gameplay is more than involving enough unless you're playing on easy mode, and what game isn't a walkover on easy? The story is better than most movies though, so there's that, and the online is great once you get the hang of it.a

Other must-haves would be the Uncharted series, Bioshock Infinite, Skyrim, Fallout GOTY, Farcry 3.

Totally agree.

I can't even play MGS because of the cut scenes, this is a proper game with genuinely decent cut scenes.

In the top 5 games of all time imho.

Uncharted series are good.
Singstar is our most played game, many alcohol infused nights on that.
Latest Fifa was good.

Really enjoyed multiplayer Virtua Tennis.

Street Fighter IV gets played to death.
Love VF5 Final Showdown as well, but needs time putting into it to get the rewards.

Under Defeat HD - Superb old skool shoot em up that can be had for less than the price of a pint.

Battlefield 3
And I thought sniper elite v2 was a quality game. The online aspect of it was not my cup of tea but the campaign was great.

The game play is great on the last of us, but there are no choices, what ever you do the out come is the same and the cut scenes are as long as the game play.
