So one popped today. I will replace both, and they're standard headlights.

So what bulb is best to put in? A search says the Orsam Nightbreaker Plus.

Not after any fancy kits, this is a standard H4 replacement.

Cheapest lamp you can get for just now and order an HID kit off ebay.

Same price as a decent lamp, umpteen times the brightness.

If you want to look like a chav and dazzle everyone then by all means go for it. Or just get some nightbreakers off ebay for around £15 a pair

Whoops. It's a H7 fitting.

Nightbreaker Plus are £12.50 from ECP, but does anyone know the real world difference between Nightbreaker Plus and Nightbreaker Unlimited?

Unlimited are the latest ones from Osram. They are {allegedly) brighter and whiter than the plus. I can vouch for the fact that this is true! smile

I've had night breakers in various cars and they vary in life, whether that's luck of the draw or not I don't know...

Osram bulbs are good, also Phillips Extreme worth a look. I usually buy mine from Amazon or Ebay.

Get a hid kit. Adjust the lights properly so they didn't dazzle. Much better than any standard bulb. The ballasts can go on the cheaper kits though.

Que the usual barrage of post on here from the tooth sucking PC brigade saying you will look like a chav, it's illegal..... You neeed this and that...

Bottom line is they give a brighter, safer light.

Bottom line is you're putting a gas discharge bulb in a housing designed for a halogen bulb. You shouldn't have to adjust the beam pattern on the halogen. Why would you adjust it for HID? Perhaps because the bulb is too bright for the design, so the light scatters and blinds other drivers. You can now get a HID kit with the bulbs painted at the top to reduce glare in the halogen housings, but most don't bother - as long as they think their beams are bright innit....

Projector headlights accept HID kits with a lot less hassle and scatter. Why not fit these or change cars. F'kin chavs.

Nothing to do with brightness and everything to do with the position of the arc!

Also the car should be fitted with headlight washers and a self levelling system that works off the suspension.

Nightbreakers are a good shout and all my cars have them.
