I've gone and got myself a device to see what the C63 can actually do rather than rely on the dodgy phone apps you can download. Its a Racelogic Performance Box that measures everything from 0-60s, 0-100s, 1/4 miles to G-Forces and braking power. It will even work out an estimated BHP if you can get a clean sprint followed by coast down.

I know its the wrong time of year to be doing 0-60s etc given the damp roads and cold summer tyres but is there a specific gearbox mode or TC mode that will give the best launch? Best 0-60 ive had today is 5.2s and that's with loads of wheelspin and bogging down off the launch. Once its past 30mph it grips really well and the 'in-gear' times are quicker than stock (mine has stage 1 Eurocharged map). 0-100 was dealt with in 9.9s which is good given the grip levels and slow start so i know its pulling well.

Any hints from the PH crew would be greatly recieved.

Here are my results so far given there must be nearly a second lost at launch:

Time 16:20 Date 08/12/2013

Speed(mph) Time(s)
0-60 05.2
0-100 09.9
30-50 01.6
50-70 01.9
0-100-0

Run 0001 ---------------
Time 16:20 Date 08/12/2013

Accel results
Speed(mph) Time(s)
0-60 05.2
0-100 09.9

Misc
Vmax
Vavg 51.8mph
AvgLatG 0.00G
PkLatG 0.61G
PkAccelG 0.66G
PkDecelG 0.63G

I don't know if you can adjust the suspension but if you can having it on the softest setting and highest ride height can help.

Not sure if it's the same on your car but I found how quickly you hit the throttle can make a huge difference. I found on a CL600 that pushing the throttle pedal even a small amount with a very quick movement would result in lots of wheelspin, but pushing it down more slowly (even with more travel) would get a much cleaner launch.

Also you can give the winter mode a go so it'll start from 2nd gear as long as you don't hit the kickdown switch on takeoff.

Hopefully that makes some sense, not sure i've explained it very well!

Just been doing some reading. 0-60 times seem to be quite futile in the C63. 60 to 120 and 60 to 130 times tend to be the benchmark for these cars.

Just done some graph research and my 60 to 120 was 8.2s which is about right for a 520bhp tune in S mode. Should be quicker runng in manual 3rd and 4th gear.

Tomorrow I'll do a 60 to 130mph run in manual to see if that tally's up with the 'tuned' figures.

On mine (Facelift) I find the best mode for getting off the line is S (in this weather), It seems like it holds the best traction without cutting in too much or causing much slip

Went out to do some testing on the VBox to see what the results of proper runs would be:

Sports handling mode in manual
3rd gear feed power in from 40, WOT from 55. Shift to 4th at redline and don't shift until redline again at 132mph
Eurocharged Stage 1 tune c/o Phill at Rebellion
Stock filters and exhaust
Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres 150 miles old
VPower fuel
Flattest road i could find.

Pretty impressed with 60-130 (60.030 - 130.040 was as accurate as i could get the graph markers)in 9.470s. Obviously the new MCT box might make these cars a fraction faster but for this time of year on these roads im well happy.

60-120 was good too: 7.540s

Impressive times. The VBox looks like and great piece of kit/toy.

Go careful if you’re on the public highway though mate!
