Sp6 Cerbera bigger engine-Who has one?
Discussion
Hi chaps.I know there are plenty of owners out there who have upgraded their Tcars, but are there any owners who have had bigger speed 6 engine upgrades done on their Cerbera.
I have some issues which could be Cerbera specific & wondered if anyone with Cerbs had had the same.At least that way I could rule a few things out.
Surely I am not the first person to have had a bigger speed 6 engine in a Cerb?
Cheers Davey.

I fancy a Speed 6 to go with the AJP8 at some point, and I do like Cerberas
Also interested to know what Cerb specific limitations there may be on the big Speed 6s.
Indeed, I perhaps wrongly assumed that there were no issues, so I'd be interested to know that too.

There are no specific issues with putting a larger capacity SP6 in a Cerbera as opposed to a Tuscan or T350.
It just requires a engine builder / installer to know what they are doing.
Does this mean that the OP has a car that may have been to some where suppect? It just requires a engine builder / installer to know what they are doing.
May be somewhere in the south west?
Just read up on another thread and Oh god it is what I was worried about.
I am sure Joolz will sort it, is it ECU related and have you binned the MBE, if so, why they are good ECU's?
Having spoken to a couple of people in the know there are no specific issues with uprated speed 6 engines in the Cerbera.

I have never heard anything good about that outfit in their various encarnations for the past decade from various completely independant sources.
I've never heard anything that suggests any ability to recognise their own limitations either, and I've never heard anything that suggests they do their research and experimentation on cars that aren't owned by extremely peaved off customers.

I just want to speak to someone who has had 4.3 or 4.5 upgrade or similar in a Cerbera NOT a Tuscan, or Sag or t350.
It may be totally irrelevant to my issue but at lleastit would help eliminate an area of investigation & maybe help save time.
I had a look in (and tidied up) the Cerb owners list stickied up at the top of the forum. No-one in there has listed a modified Speed Six engine except for one FFF engine. Sorry! It may be totally irrelevant to my issue but at lleastit would help eliminate an area of investigation & maybe help save time.

They should be AVOIDED at all costs, unfortunatley I am pretty sure that we will continue reading about other disasters from this garage while they continue to pray on the TVR community.

Wow I was impressed, mechanically silent and loads of grunt and from low revs, he is just in the last few miles of running it in but the rebuild has transformed the car.
No power figures yet due to running in but the torque must be impressive, at least as good as my cerb 4.5 which is putting out 380 torquey things and 400 BHP and all at sub 3000rpm.
STR8SIX did his, he went for the cost not a problem route so new exhaust and loads of extra bits but god it is good.
