Hi all - I've started the new thread.

UPDATING - please can you quote the leaderboard and update it youself? I'm happy to do the odd sweep and tidy up but I won't have time to re-order and re-populate times. I'm sorry it's manual but I'm not clever enough to figure out a way to link into the leaderboards directly.

This is the latest table I can figure out - direct from Forza 5 boards. Sharkyhughes has moved up a fair bit, as has simian wonder.

We also have a few new (to me) entrants!

How can you tell if it's a dirty or clean lap? I'm sure mine was dirty, I was all over the place, but can't see any indication on the Forza leaderboard?

It's not shown on the leaderboard - but it will show you behind people with slower times so you can work backwards to work out where the cut off is.

How did we end up settled on this class and track?! I'll post a proper attempt later if I remember.

It's really easy to fk up on this track, not easy to stay full throttle on most corners.

dropped another place then, need to get back on this tonight.

Out of interest, those on sub 2 mins laps - are you tuning your cars, auto or manual upgraded? I just stuck a bit of power and aero on mine.

Boydie88 - It was just the one out of 2 or 3 that I tried that "stuck" i.e. quite a few people had times on it.

I'd like to include a spec challenge as well so that "non-tuners" don't have to worry so much if they want to aim for the ultimate time.

Anyone got a favourite spec challenge and I'll do the table?

I see, that's obvious now you mention it. thumbup

Ok, another question, any mods that I tried to do on my car (except aerodynamics) took me to a B class, how can you tune the car and not take it into the next class?

Assuming you're at maximum for a C class I guess you'll have to take something else OFF first and set it back to stock, or an intermediate part.

Sorry for being dense (you know, just for a change) but what settings/track are giving the input for these results?

Sorry - forgot the title when I swapped it over. Added it now. Its the classs C time attack on Bernese Alps, Festival circuit.

A lot of the times were originally from career mode...

What is this "auto upgrade" you speak of?? hehe

So far in FM5 my car builds have gone grip first then power with whatever spare PI I have left. I'm not great at driving slidy cars so I prefer grip over speed on most circuits.

My build for the BR-Z and most cars goes like this... Race tyres (usually wider too), Forza aero front and back, race gearbox, race differential, race suspension, race anti roll bars front and back, race brakes.
Roll cage and weight reduction are optional depending on how much PI is left and how much power you want to add. Don't fall into the trap of making your cars as light as possible all the time as a bit of weight can help stability!

The reason for all the race parts is because they're adjustable.

A couple tips, for RWD cars always have the suspension softer at the rear as this will help absorb some of the power under acceleration and prevent the wheels from spinning up. I will occasionally go as much as 25% softer than the front.
To help turn in don't be afraid to mess about with the camber (always negative) and the castor angle. Castor angle is hugely different in FM5 and I've gone as high as 6.6 so far.

All the above is just my own opinion but I sold 11,000 tunes in Forza 4 so I know a bit. Still loads to learn in 5 though!

Cheers, I'll try some of the tuning tonight. I've got some room for improvement on my time, but not 5 seconds as with those in first place!

Got an OK clean lap - I have no idea how you get round 10 seconds quicker though!!
