We've all had our next gen consoles for at least a week now (a fortnight or more if you're an Xbox person like me) so its fair to say if you have one you've had a bit of time to put its through its paces and find the problems.

So I'm interested to see what your thoughts on the new consoles are and what you want to see, lets try and keep this away from just a console war and try to focus on the consoles you own rather than just ripping into the one you didn't buy to try to better justify your own purchase smile

Anyway from the Xbox I want:

A better party system: At the moment the party system is incredibly buggy, the chat functionality is great but you can only invite people to one game and then if you don't want to play that game anymore you have to either hope that the game you're about to play gives you the option to change the "party game" (only one that has done this flawlessly for me out of the 6 I own is BF4) or you have to disband the party and start a new one and re-invite everyone again which is incredibly tedious. The system seems to completely alienate the feature that made it so popular, the ability to talk to you mates and have groups of people on 2-3 different games whilst in one collective chat party.

A controller battery % indicator: At the moment there's no indication of how much battery your controller has left so you'll be midway through a FIFA/Forza game and your controller will just conk out and you'll have to frantically try to plug it in before you lose the race/game. very annoying.

The ability to see whats on my hard drive!: At the moment there is no way to see how much space you have on your HDD, theres no way to see what is taking up how much space and I have yet to find a way to delete game installs. This is fine at the moment but when I start trading games in I want to be able to wipe them from my system to free up space for the next that I buy. Also all these game clips that my games (especially FIFA!!!!) collect must be eating space up pretty rapidly, a way to wipe all the non-uploaded ones quickly would be nice.

Be able to adjust the size and location of snap: Snap is a great feature but having it in just one size on the right of your screen is sometimes annoying. The ability to snap to half of the screen or from the left/top would be useful.

SkyGo/BT Sport apps: The need for this might be cancelled out when the TV functionality arrives in the UK but it would be nice to have these apps, especially BT Sport as for some reason my Sky Box still refuses to let me watch it.

USB drive support: I hear this is on its way but it would have been nice to have it at launch.

Other than that the Xbox One is fantastic, the games are amazing although some were obviously developed for last gen and just ported across by lazy developers (Assassins Creed and CoD I'm looking at you) but games like Forza and Battlefield are amazing graphically and with "war tapes" sound and a home cinema system on Battlefield it really completes the game and makes it much more realistic.

It'll be interesting to see what other Xbox Users think and also I haven't had a chance to play around with a PS4 yet to judge it but I'll be interested to hear what you all say too.

I'd agree with all your points.

There is also a 5 page thread of suggestions on a good Xbox site - here

What updates do I want for the next gen consoles, how about some decent games? Not interested in socialising, sharing photos or any of that other "media" crap, I just bought it to play games and it's been a pretty disappointing launch line-up for both consoles IMO.

This.

Also an update for BF4. It would be nice to actually play a game costing £45 without being dumped back to the homes screen every now and then.
