Any Red Rose owners thinking of selling
Discussion
Dear fellow PH'ers, I've been watching the Cerbera classifieds for years now and am now finally in a position to afford and treat a Cerbera as it should be treated.
So the question to any lucky owners out there is - are any of you thinking of selling a Red Rose?
I think i may have just missed one which is frustrating. Any help appreciated and i hope to meet some of you when I have the keys to my Trevor in due course!

You may want to do a little more research there
The green/flip colour on your gallery is one of the best I've seen also. Making me a little green (with envy rather than round the gills

Mine is potentially for sale. Just replied to your mail.
It's in a Ferrari grey colour (Grigio Titanium) with mulberry leather. Anthracite spider alloys.
It has had most items replaced - suspect I have spent £25k on her.
It has 330mm brakes (new). Recent engine rebuild (with wired liners, copper gaskets etc). Also has bespoke exhaust from Raceproved plus Raceproved clutch and slave.
Also a different gear box and diff to normal. Means 50 plus in first (apparently). Has nitron suspension.
I have had her for 4 or 5 years I guess. My 3rd Cerbera 40k miles from memory.
It could do with a couple of scratches sorting and the air boxes painting. Apart from that it wants for nothing.
I was offered £25k for her a year or two ago. So am not wanting to give her away. So will be a pricey one if I sell.

Here you are Gary, some decent shots in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jycDLaJy60c
Can I ask why you want a red rose. I only ask because in my experience of meeting them on track so to speak you wouldn't be able to tell a red rose from a LW. You could tell a car that had a whirlwind induction however, which is why I bought one.
My take on buying a Cerbera
S6's were for girls
LW light weights were the heaviest
Most later 4.2's were 4.5's in all but name.
The old 4.2 induction system was far superior to the newer one.
Red roses was possibly the highest price you could pay for a badge.
The quality control comming out of bristol was so poor that you could trust little about the cars until you'd actually had a look see.
The most important history paperwork you can find on a cerbera is how many miles its done per year.

Thanks for this Julian64. Are LW's REALLY the heaviest? Got to love TVR idiosyncrasies. Take it you mean Bristol Av... And do the induction systems really make that much difference to power or are you referring to intake noise? My take on buying a Cerbera

To answer your question - I liked the look of the facelift cars and wanted the AJP V8 (have done for too many years), preferably one with a chassis not resembling swiss cheese. I had also observed that for a good lowish mileage (but regularly driven and cared for) example prices were creeping into RR territory. So I though I'd go RR fishing
as none were listed on the classifieds and I had seen the earlier thread where it was suggested there may be some members considering parting with theirs. I wanted to get a feel for prices and availability if any. I do like the idea of the ultimate factory spec, albeit apparently valued primarily due to this alone (and rarity) rather than actual differences in spec/power etc vs some cars. The internal argument I am currently having is will I want to take a red rose out often enough to justify the purchase (vs. say, a 12-15K car which might end up less of a garage queen). The number of Red Roses left on the roads would influence my decision here and this appears to be a low number so I would feel I had some kind of responsibility/duty even to look after extra carefully.
You are making me think of the (not unattractive alternative) of a car I could happily throw round a track which I'm sure should be sampled based on how much of the throttle travel I will normally have to hold back!
A better question might be - why the hell am i doing this when the roads are wet/icey/salty? Must be mad!
