Yesterday, was walking the hound, passing the local shops and a 57 plate Fiesta ST came through, fast, very very fast, there was a bloke with two kids waiting to cross, a car coming the other way that had to stop and he had to cross the crossroads further down on the wrong side as a car started to pull out and had not gauged how fast it was going.

I have never seen a car driven at that speed down there, utter fkwittery, now a Fiesta ST isnt a hypercar but it does what, 60 in 8 seconds, usually people put their foot down and then back off, he just kept accelerating through the gears, I suspect it was doing seventy or more, maybe even eighty, in a thirty, it was being driven absolutely flat out.

I was quite taken aback, as was the bloke crossing with his kids, amazing anyone thinks that is a way to behave, I try to ignore phone usage and other general bad driving habits as otherwise you turn into a gibbering wreck or drive round in an old Omega pretending to be the Police but this really rattled me, it is annoying as there is absolutely nothing you can do.

Cool story bro, etc.

Seen the same thing about a month ago whilst walking the dog.. Built up 30mph zone and I heard it coming, counted 3 flat out gear changes.. It was a Civic Type R (bread van one) was probably doing 80-90 mph. What a tool, still see it kicking about ill report it when I can get the reg. it's utterly ridiculous.

There is an R32 GTR and what I think might be a 300ZX which do the same down my street every now and then. At least 3 full bore gearchanges. Street in question is concrete with residential on one side and an industrial estate on the other.

GTR is probably topping out at a ton with cars parked on the road on one side. Completely ridiculous.

Was walking out of Tesco car park about a year ago, catching up with my misses.

I heard a chav'd up Fiesta ST suddenly floor it out of the car park, I thought what a complete prick, usually I would drive walking pace in the car as it is a crossing and a dark car park. I get to the crossing to find my misses and step daughter on the floor in tears. Turns out they were crossing when the fiesta just launched from being parked to straight at them, she had to push her daughter out of the road with inches to spare. Never seen them so scared and wound up. They heard the driver arguing with his partner then just tear off.

Makes you realise how venerable people are against cars

A nice newish (12 plate) white Boxster S pulled into Tesco yesterday - the driver was a bleached haired 40 something with an inane grin. He parked in a parent and child space despite the car being almost empty. Of course he was with his missus and no child.
I then spotted him drive through the local town and without any indicating, did a U turn at a mini roundabout with no indicating - he very nearly mowed a cyclist and a pedestrian down. Inane grin remained, about a dozen people shook their heads in dismay.

No wonder Porsches often have a bad image to many.

Shamefully, at 17 I did do this once or twice and I do regret it now.

When I see people do this in areas with a lot of peds it makes me sick.

Save it for the track - or at very least the B roads!

Years ago I went along to a local car meet, there was a local character known simply as "Trevor the revver" He would drive flat out, regardless, think he had a Saxo of some description! An absolute tool!

Will keep my eye open for it and might do if it is being driven in the same manner.

Not a car driver....

I came close to seriously injuring a cyclist last week.

It was dark, poor visibility and drizzle. I was at the bottom of a hill indicating to turn right. 2 cars went past in the opposing carriage way, there was a gap following that. Just as I had begun to turn, I caught a glimpse of something white. I immediately braked, and as I did a school boy on a
BMX peddled past. He was riding in the road, wearing a black school uniform and no lights on his bike. The flash of white must have come from his shirt. I have perfect vision and simply didn't see him. Death wish does not come close.

Reported an aggressive prick in a Mercedes van (RN52 EAX) the other day as he thought I'd taken a fraction too long at a mini roundabout (I arrived at the give way line at almost exactly the same time as a car to my left and another to my right, so there was a delay of perhaps 3 or 4 seconds). Prick in van pulls up extremely close while leaning on the horn. I pull away and he's weaving around trying to get past, which he eventually does and cuts in so sharply, I had to brake hard to avoid hitting the nearside rear of his st heap...

Anyway, I got home and reported it on the 101 non emergency number. The operator was helpful and took all the details, but apparently I have to fill in a 966 form, which I can pick up from my local Police Station. All I need to do now is drive 8 miles to Bromley as those who know best have closed down the large Police station in Orpington... Most other forms seem to be available to download on-line.... but not the one I need for some reason.

Just to add, I was driving my 80 year old mother in her Micra, so powerful, angry Neanderthal van prick obviously carefully targets what he thinks are doddery old drivers who can easily be intimidated by his aggressive stupidity - what a brave hero!!! This incident took place in relatively light traffic at 3:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Lord knows how he behaves when in congested traffic situations. Perhaps I should have stopped the vehicle to get out and had a word. He may have been somewhat taken aback when instead of a pensioner exiting the car, it was a 6'5" male instead - could have been interesting to see his face...

The fact that you recognise this and know not to do it now is a testament to your character. There are some out there and have driven in the manner the OP describes all their lives.

There's a pedestrian crossing in Belfast city centre that connects 2 pedestrian zones (in front of HMV and Currys for the locals) that anyone with half a brain knows not to go near on a saturday afternoon. Because it's so busy with pedestrians, the pedestrian crossing if almost always in use. Anyway, some dobber in a Hyundai Matrix who had been waiting for the crossing to clear, finally lost patience and then tried to drive over the crossing with people on it, nearly taking down a mother and 2 kids. A man, unrelated to them it would seem, banged his hand on the Hyundai and told him he didn't have right of way. Classy Hyundai driver then gets out and tells him he'll kick his head in if he didn't get out of the way.

Sadly didn't get a clear picture of the reg (poor quality camera phone at the time) but if I had, I'd have reported him. Completely unacceptable behaviour.
