Sunday Driver: Dirty DC2
Discussion
Morning all.
Wasn't going to post this, as I know this car doesn't always attract positive comments on other sites, but I think my previous thread went down quite well when we went to the 'ring: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
Haven't shown you the DC2 for a while so we're overdue an update.
Don't get to drive her often now, so when I do it always feels like an event. I pretty much always take the camera and piss about somehow. Here's what I got up to today.
Firstly I was going to make a vid showing the cars random misfire that it does sometimes, but all went well when I started the car so it turned into another exhaust video/flyby!

There are still many, many things that I want to do, and that I know need doing to the car. I'm not exactly a perfectionist when it comes to cosmetics, but the hash job of the carbon surround on the clocks makes me cringe every time I look at it. I doubt I could do a better job mind, but once I get the converter fixed I'm hoping to do a better install with 2 52mm gauges either side. (Oil temp/pressure)
Comments appreciated, good or bad! Interested to hear everyone's opinion.

it looks well used which is nice.
The S2000 clocks are awesome, I've not seen that done before on a DC2, not that I spend lots of time looking mind, incase it's really common
Do you have spacers on the rear wheels? It looks purposeful anyway, I'm not personally keen on the wing, but that's my own preference!
PS - Can I have your seats please thankyou x

All jokes aside i do like these. Told that these are one of the best handling front wheel drive cars still to date. nice mate
Hey bud, was out with some E36 friends yesterday and thinking coilovers and spacers are definitely needed for mine next year!

It really is one of the best 'handling' cars out there, FWD or RWD. Of course the term handling can be interpreted differently by any man, but I think overall (mechanical grip, feedback, dependability) it really is outstanding.

Certainly is well used, the S2000 clocks is not a massively common mod but is increasing in popularity due to conversion kits. Still have to do a bit of wiring though which puts many people off.The S2000 clocks are awesome, I've not seen that done before on a DC2, not that I spend lots of time looking mind, incase it's really common

Yes, I have 15mm Eibach hubcentric spacers all round

The seats are awesome, aren't they? I'm considering putting a set in my E36!

Very nice DC2 mate. Bonnet & Spoiler aren't to my taste but liking the Wheel and S2k Cluster. Was that difficult or expensive to wire/fit in?
Not really difficult, you just have to take your time. It took me about an hour or so going steady - there are only around 12 wires to connect. It has to be hard wired though. Ideally I want to go back in and do it again but to solder the connections properly. TREMAiNE said:

love integra's
its a shame they're holding their value or i'd pick one up.
how are they on fuel?
Cheers bud, they're pretty good. I averaged 38mpg going to the ring and back, used to regularly average 33/34mpg when I used it for commuting.love integra's

Is it bad that my weekend toy is better on fuel than my daily? Lol.
Speaking of which, the winter wheels are on the E36 now.

Should this thread not have just been added on to your existing thread?
Either way, lovely car but as said that spoiler is horrendous and the steering wheel looks like its seen better days.
Is there a limit on creating new threads? It's not as though the media is hosted on PH's servers, all Flickr/YouTube so I don't really see the issue?Either way, lovely car but as said that spoiler is horrendous and the steering wheel looks like its seen better days.
As said, the steering wheel was a steal. It is pretty tatty looking, but feels great!

It's not as though the spoiler is some cheap eBay jobbie either, but I can't expect everyone to like the look of it!

What are the symtoms of this? Once warmed up? Distributor Cap and rotor arm might be worth looking at.
Cheers,
C
I've not long since changed those, if anything I believe it's the stupid bonnet letting water in and soaking the HT leads/plugs when its sat for a few weeks. Really need to consider replacing it or blocking up the vents. Cheers,
C
