Warmest Overshoes
Discussion
Hi all, I've been on the search and not found the answer I'm looking for. As above, what are your recommendations for the warmest overshoes? I know it's winter and invariably my feet will get cold, but I'm keen to hear what everyone else thinks (the rest of me always stays warm). Buying a wintershoe is out of the question as I'm currently buying lots of kit for Kili in the new year, but I need to keep cycling to keep my fitness up. So I'm having to make do with the cheaper option.
Thanks for your help.

I can recommend Endura Dexter - they have a fleece/Roubaix lining and are waterproof to an extent. Like most overshoes they do eventually soak through but that requires pretty persistent rain. I've worn them down to about freezing and not had cold feet yet.
I also wear two pairs of thin socks (layering traps warm air) and don't forget to tape over any vent holes in the soles of your shoes - electrical tape works very well.

Edit - if anyone from Specialized is reading this, please don't sue me for the use of the word "Roubaix".

You can also put your socked feet in carrier bags (may have to trim them down a bit) before you put your shoes on. Helps me a bit.
I may have a crack at this method tomorrow. My feet were really cold this morning and it was far from enjoyable. I had my usual summer shoes with all the vents taped up, sports socks, Tesco 'thermal' socks and overshoes too. I'm going to buy a posh pair of cycling socks and see if they work. If they don't, I'm just sending them back. I bought these a couple of years ago in the Geoffrey Butler sale. By far the warmest ever overshoe I've tried (including the Assos one)

They are windproof and fleece lined. I've used them over my Shimano RW80's when it's -5 in the morning and then add in the wind chill. Feet nice and toastie
