I cant think of any reason they wouldnt its a business afterall

Maybe Porsche will cut the 991 short and move to the 992 instead which is basically the same car with a slightly revised shell and lighting.

I would expect GT3RS.1, 991.2 GT3RS.2.the normal progression.

I have my doubts about any manual transmission, but usual refinements based on experience with the Gen 1..aerodynamics, bit more power, few cosmetics.

And he has already revised his original "no more GT3's" stance. It seems the facts changed, so he changed his mind. That's OK.

I didnt touch his car but now I wish I would of put a '1' in the 4DX number plate somewhere...
I remember few months back on the McLaren forum he took a few people on about the P1 vs the 918 Spyder and although I am a big fan of the 918 Spyder and was trying my best to route for him it was again the way he presented 'facts' that I in the end gave up on.

I can well believe we're not going to get anymore high reving NA engined GT3s after the 991 GT3 RS. As mentioned on the other thread, with the Euro6 emissions rules coming into effect from sept 2014, porsche must be looking at smaller turbo charged engines or the hybrid tech they've been "perfecting" for the 918. Not what we want to hear but I think it'll be coming.

Would usually have thought the above but the upcoming emissions regulations and all that do put a bit of a spanner in the works. It is not impossible the 991 gt3 and rs might mark the end of the high revving na engines which would be real shame IMO.

I reckon 'cooking' 911 models will stay 6 cylinder and 'GT' models will move to 8.

This is all bloody good news if you own and will keep a GT3 and terrible news if you ever wanted your children to drive proper cars.

Isnt there an argument that the final generation of proper supercars (the current cars or maybe a year or two from now) will barely depreciate at all as they will not be replaced?

8 cylinders? Nah. Never. Engines are going to get smaller. It's sad. But it's the way things are going.

You pays your taxes; you pays more taxes; you pays some more; then you get told you are not allowed to own a car with a proper engine anymore because it is mean to polar bears. No, you cant offset the damage by paying all the tax (which is nonesense, because you do so very easily through petrol charges). You are just denied the option.

then they'll have to introduce a small engine hybrid tax to offset the huge loss in revenue from fuel duty as we'll all be getting over 150 mpg
