Steve Sutcliffe really enjoyed that.

Massive performance, go, stop, balance and grip. All in one of the most beautiful shapes, ever. Can't wait to hone up my driving skills. Plan to be on the road with mine in the spring but I'm easy about the time. Quality build comes first.

nice review, altho he didnt push the T70 in bends. once you get used to driving it properly you can play with the throttle a bit, but its got to be driven right to get the best out of it, genuine drivers car imho. you can of course potter about like in their video!

As above really, shame he wasn't pushing the Lola properly!

Very positive overall though. I'm thinking very hard about starting a build next year.

Would like to see the same test with an LS7 powered Ultima GTR in the frame.

Hey Stig - wouldn't we all. But Ultimas seem quite coy about being seen in the company of other kit cars. As the video shows, a mild tune LS is plenty, with more straight line speed than the McLaren. For most of us its enough to have a LS3 from Gardner Douglas, dyno tuned with their Canems engine management. But there is one power hungry builder doing a way out LS7 version. That should do it.

i've been on a trackday at blyton with ultimas present and they were going ok, didnt get passed by any. would be good to get a few quick cars together next year on track there as a meet up.

although its great to see a mainstream supercar compared to one of the best the kit car industry can turn out, it wasnt really pushed hard enough for me, i'd have liked to see a top driver take both round in normal road trim as they were to compare actual lap times, just for comparison. we all know how quick our v8 kit cars are and how well they handle but a lap time comparison on the same day to some of the supercars would be cool.

We recently ran the "Mad" LS7 engine on our engine dyno for the GDT70 owner Darran (nice guy), it was a complete pussy cat to be honest it idiled beautifully but it made some serious torque !!! 612 ftlbs on CanEms management with a stock LS7 camshaft..... The throttle body setup on Darrans engine is a work of art and with a slight camshaft upgrade could do some serious numbers, but i think he has enough to play with:-)

The problem i see is putting all that power down?? We have done quite a bit of engine work for Andy now and the GDt70 is certainly a very impressive bit of kit. We have a few plans for the future with GD, Darran and David (canems) but i best not say too much;-)

i went in the other red t70 whuch had about 700bhp (the one thats featured in the Nurburgring GD T70 video clip on you tube)
it was a bit mad, and probably too much power tbh, the original owner said as much. 600bhp is enough in a 900kg car from what i can see before it gets too lairy. mine feels about right with 480-500ish, its not scary anymore, but its driveable and you can push it hard whereas 700bhp wouldnt get full use much i reckon
