Hi Folks,
I know this subject was covered recently but could anybody please tell me what could cause the boot release button to pack up
. Is there a fuse I could check?
In the mean time anyone like to e-mail me the way around it so I could put some petrol into the Beast.
Many thanks
Anto

I had the same problem with my Griffith. I don't know if the Chimera is the same, but here goes.
Mine stopped working when I was fully loaded on the way to Back Home. Took it to TMS and they fixed it while I waited. When you eventually manage to get the boot open (I think there's a secret way which shouldn't be broadcast, but perhaps someone could email you the instructions) to the right of the bootlid catch (on the car body rather than the lid) there are two screws. Apparently this secures the solenoid that opens the boot. You probably need to pull away some carpet, undo the screws and replace it. As I say this worked for my late Griff, hope it's of some help with your car. Good luck.

Could anybody please send me this secret way to the boot as well.
Happened to me that I left the keys in the boot, 250 miles away from home, had to wait 2 hours for AA, who tried to get ignition working for other 1,5 hours.
Finally I was in real trouble with that days appointments and now suffer on that traumatic experience.

I'm not in the know on the back door methods on how to enter a Chimaera but it does bother me that it can be done. I guess any so called professional thieves will be well aware of this.
Can these security issues be addressed???
Yes
1. Pour concrete through the open window up to the top of the door level. This will immobilise the car and contents.
2. Remove all four wheels and leave the car on bricks. Fix Police aware sticker and most will assume the car has already been done over...
The car is a convertible. If you think that it is going to be absolutely secure then think again. Don't keep valuables in it. BTW the secret methods for getting into the car do not disable the alarm or immobiliser. With any car, if someone want to get in, they can, even if it as crude as breaking a window.

To all those who sent an e-mail to me (all 20 of you!!), my apologies for not responding yet. I shall reply to each one soon. It's been too nice to sit at the PC, when I can be on the road cruising.
To those in the Surrey RO, I should be at the next meeting in August and will attempt a demo. Mine is the blue Chim with "JAS" on plate.

Hi,
Could someone e-mail me please with the method for boot opening please (next 15-mins?). Been away for a week and unfortunately the drivers door was'nt fully closed, hence interior light + alarm has left no battery. I've tried the method in Steve's book, but cant't see what he's on about (sorry!). Many thanks.
