Reg plate transfer question

Good folks of PH...

I am in the process of possibly swapping Mrs H's Murano for an RX540h with a local Lexus dealer.

They have informed me that the plate transfers can take up to six weeks now and it cannot be done how it used to be - I have done a bit of research and it seems they are not having my leg up but could someone here in the know confirm this is now the case. As the last time we did this the Infiniti dealer we bought the Murano from did it within the week?

Most of the local DVLA offices are now gone or shortly going, ours at Nottingham stopped doing the paperwork and just sent it to Swansea, so your in their hands. Ours took about 3 weeks a few months back.

Up to six weeks more like 2-4 weeks but it's near Xmas so might be six weeks
