Tiger Supercat Custom tank info if anyone needs it
Discussion
i thought I would inform other Supercat owners that I am at the end of discussing the details of a 60 Ltr custom fuel tank for my Supercat and Matt deardens Cat
Details are as follows.
60ltr
Fully Foam baffle filled.
Internal collector
Fuel outlet and return ( So with the last 2 allows for TB to be added with no change to the tank int he future)
Inspection plate which has a Aero filler cap and drip dray built in. Tank filler will be under the tonneau.
You can keep your old cap where it is if you wish. I am spraying the rear end up and fiber glassing the old filler hole.
Also has built in air bleed valve thing in the inspection plate
the size of the tank fits comfortably in between the rear chassis and bodywork
Also comes with SS and rubber fitting straps
The only down side is that for 2 including VAT is approx £600.

I know I could get it cheaper but Pro Alloy came highly recommended on PH and as you can see by the link, the tank will be of very high quality. And they have been great with giving me feedback and helping to get just what I want
If you look at the pics a tank or a racing tiger has been already made
I said to Alex at pro Alloy that i would see if anyone was interested on here mainly as it took a while to get all the details correct and thought I would pass this on to fellow Tiger owners
And my main reason for going for a larger tank is touring more, Le mans and Euro tours and wishing to have a larger tank range. Going from 120-140 before worrying about the need to fill up to 250-300 mile range
Hope that helps others, When I'm home I can post up a sketch of the tank Alex at pro alloy has done for me.
cheers
Matt

£600 for 2? So £300 each?
Sounds like decent value to me.
I would say one thing though having done several euro tours and Lemans. Why do you need 60 litres? That's a lot of weight to carry around and I have never felt the need to do 300 miles in mine without stopping at least for a few minutes to stretch my legs.
Most of the guys I go with have a range between 150 and 200 miles. This has always been plenty.

Sorry I should have added £600 for 1
When your doing 500 miles trip in a day as we have done or 2k in 6 days as I have done having to stop every 100-150 miles is a pain. Plus the tiger fuel gauge is crap at at 100 miles I start looking for fuel stations
Having done le mans about 6 times and travelling late at night and try to find a open fuel station is not fun. again as I have done
As for weight, i'm not worried about this, adding a passenger is more weight than doubling the size of the tank
