must be trying to make a big profit on selling as parts as would have made a reasonable project as a complete car. £200 for a door !

Spoke to the guy and the car was sold by an old guy on the basis that it would be broken and never put back on the road - even though there's nothing wrong with it frown

That doesn't make any sense to me. For him to want the car broken up, he can't be a TVR enthusiast, so what does he care about what happens to the car, as long as he gets his money. Unless, there is more to it, and the owner is afraid of something, like someone botching it up and returning it back on the road for safety reasons.

I have been contacted by the seller to explain that He put high prices on the items to get our attention , which worked pretty well.
He reminded me that there is the "make an offer" button on the auctions and the proceeds are to go into his racing fund for next year.
Sounds fair enough to Me. Still confused by the previous owner insisting that the car has to be broken up but that is out of his control by the sound of it.
Cheers
Geoff.

Hi there everyone im the chap breaking the TVR Tasmin. I don't know if there is a welcome place so sorry if there is.

You are way off sorry buddy car has never been botched up !! .

The chap has owned the car for years been to many shows with the car . He has had a illness so he cant drive . A Local garage has cared for the car for years and years and with owners ill health he passed the car onto the garage with instructions that he couldn't bare to see the car on the road other than him driving it . This is his words not garages or mine its his car he can do what he wants with it. I think its a damn shame as do most of you on here.

The garage is my main sponsor I race a ZX6R with hottrax motorsport he asked if he could donate the car to me to break as spares im fine with that we are a breakers yard and I have got to respect his wishes as he is respecting the gents who passed car onto us .

So back to the Tasmin it sounds lovely I have never even sat in one before goes ok too ( on private land of course)

So hope that helped a few people out and nice to meet you all.

Oh im not trying to make a million off the car and ill do the best deals I can for anyone id rather keep a few more on the road . Prices are set high to attract attention there is a best offer underneath this starts at 0.01p

Hi Mate..And thanks for letting us know..As you say you must respect the wishes of the owner and sorry to hear of his ill health but it sounds very selfish of him to not allow a rare classic car not to be enjoyed by anyone else but him..If i was to drop dead tomorrow or be diagnosed with something terrible then i would most certainly want my wedge to live on in my memory to be enjoyed and loved as i would of done.

It sounds like the gentleman was never involved in Wedge activity as 99.9% of Wedge owners are much in favour of saving and preserving these cars.

Could he be persuaded otherwise?

It would be a credit to him.

That's just made my day !

On a serious note - will the owner be prepared to let the car go if resprayed different colour/number plate changed - must be worth asking?

Hi Ziga he must of been theres loads of TVR stuff inside . I cant speak for the gent i dont know him im 3rd in line on this one sorry. I dont wanna ask for log book off my garage if it compromises my sponsorship deal its hard to get any sponsorship at the minute so every little helps .

If the owner is selfish thats him not me or my garage . I can see that it is a classic i didnt know until i had a look around at the tasmins i think this is number 51 if i have read the vin correctly ? could this be right ?

Well said Zig. I understand about the owners misfortune and have every sympathy for him, but it is very selfish of him not to want someone else to enjoy the car when its in perfectly good condition. I also understand that the breakers are just passing the information on and respecting the owners wishes, however I still feel there may be more to the information passed on, perhaps by the garage that's been looking after the car. Whatever the case it's a shame to loose a perfectly good and rare Wedge.

Hi Mate..I appreciate that..Just seems a terrible shame that someone would want to destroy a piece of hand built british motor history..A sad end to a 30+ year old car.

I guess the owner must of mixed in the Wedge circles...I didn't mean to call him selfish just a selfish act…poor chap.

Cheers
