The supercharged Chimaera in classifieds. I appreciate it hasn't been up long but already a price reduction by the seller. Could it be that people will shy away from a modified car? Looks a bit of a bargain to me.

Looks like a nice car.

If i SC my car and with the upgrades i have done it would stand me in about the same or a tad less I guess.

So much to do, so little time and life's running out...............................

So SC is a definitie route for you on your 5.5? That'll be a torque monster...

Definitely. Torque might just be a tad much as it's nearly 400 now.

Trouble is it's the torque that gets you instant results.

Doing about 60 in the inside lane on Saturday when a newish Porsche passed at about 80, no big deal.
Accelerated in 3rd and within a couple of seconds I was on his bumper, absolutely no effort at all. It's those occasions that the light weight and huge torque really work well.

I can't imagine what SC will feel like!

What happened to this bloke?

Now we know our cars are quite fast as standard.

We know that modded NA cars are faster still.

And we know that FI is the way to go for even more horses.

So when I eventually got my NA 5.5 on the road yesterday I honestly wondered, is it necessary to FI this car and the answer, "probably" is no.

It has so much more power then my 325 horse chim.

I haven't used it in anger on the track, early days yet but first impressions are that the car probably couldn't handle much more power and handle reasonably well, let's face it, they're not exactly bristling with GTR technology!

Point is, even though we want more, don't ask for too much as it will spoil a great car.

Old man words of wisdom complete, ready to be mocked........
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely. wink

Perhaps there are not too many people looking to spend £15k on a convertible two weeks before Christmas? The housing market is pretty dead too until February.....

QBee, I think you mean 'the housing market is almost bereft…'. Folks can get a short term loan for 2500% for any old rubbish, but for some getting a mortgage for bricks and motor appears to be more difficult. I'm fortunate, but have a mate that isn't… no lending, no housing market. However, his saved deposit would buy a very nice car!!! scratchchin

I personally think it was just overpriced at the original mark. Well... not overpriced full stop. Just no one will pay that, especially at this time of the year xmas

One of the minor issues with upgrading your TVR is that the value doesn't increase by more than about 20% of the money spent.....
