I'm contemplating buying an AFR meter to try and set up the EFI on the SEAC, anyone have any experience of trying this?

In particular I'm interested in part load/transient response - I don't think a chassis dyno run will help on this as it's done at wide-open throttle.

No experience of AEM but I had an Innovate wideband in the dash of my Cobra replica. Invaluable for setting up the 4 barrel Edelbrock carb. Wasn't over damped so reaction to transients was good with being overly "nervous" if you know what I mean. Makes it easy to shoot for your preferred AFR at WOT - I went with 13:1 and pushed the timing hard - it was all in by just over 2k rpm! Bloody went well though!!

I only had one bung in one side so strictly speaking I was only tuning based on one bank, but you could weld a bung in either side, tune one side then swap it over and see what you get.

I got a aem gauge and a few others on here run them, I had the analogue version to keep it looking 'old'

Couldn't fault it if I'm honest great bit of kit

You need a wideband lamnda sensor.

Get the boss welded into the manifold so it doesn't sit in water during the warm-up (I know - not much danger of that in a wedge). It's worth having a tap for the boss as it may distort.

Finally it's fun to take readings with one person driving and another reading the revs and sensor and plotting it. (Given the right passenger...)
