Potential buyers will benefit from hearing the positive experiences S ownership provides. The funny stuff, the laughs, the attention we enjoy getting

I found one such thread on PH 3 years ago, it opened my eyes and turned me on to TVR. These threads bring more to the fold. I for one could spend hours reading posts of peoples favourite moments (and was asked by an S owner to repost the post below, which i origionally posted in the cerbera forum). Lets let this thread grow (I suspect I'll be the main contributor!) and show it to potential owners who venture into our corner of Cyberspace And it would be nice if everyone chipped in once every once in a whlie with another story

I have had dozens of really positive experiences in my S. You cant go anywhere without it drawing at attention to itself. One of my best 'moments' was pulling out of a gas station. Some youths walked past the car and heard one say "TVR!" 60 seconds later turning into a road, a few youths ahead stopped, turned right around and watched the S slowly cruising past them, and another 100 yards up the next road, again we found another much bigger group of yougsters turn around one by one, and as we passed one of them screamed "TVR!!" at the top of his voice. Made my girlfriend and I smile, all in the space of 90 seconds

You get looks everywhere you go, and shouts occasionally. Bearing in mind there were only 410 V8S's made, I was well impressed when heard someone shout out "Look, a TVR V8S!" once.

The other thing I find with the TVR, compared to my girlfriends car, other drivers give you right of way far more often, even when they have right of way. The same goes with overtaking, people always move over for if you are approaching from behind. Does everyone else also find this is the case?

If anyone sees you get out of the car, they often want to talk. Shops, pharmacist, drive throughs, gas stations etc... I would never want a ferrari, many people view fezza owners as flash gits whereas TVRs are regarded as being cool cars (quite rightly ) people are always keen to talk me about my S, and share their happiness. Ownership is such a positive experience, and comes with the premium of of not being turned on by other brands of auto

The very best though is winding up to 4.5k revs in in first downtown, vrrrrrmmmmmm... !BANG! and a dozen heads simultaneously turn. The S really brings out the playful/happy side, which is what its all about

People turning round to watch still makes me grin. But when they hear you coming from 100 yards behind them, turn around, actually stop (the young, middle aged and old) to watch the car go by... you cant help but laugh and know you did the right thing in buying one

Come on chaps, this is the last thread I am starting on pops and bangs and positive experiences Lets add to this post, keep discussion on experiences, and let it grow. Not only will I have bedtime reading material, but It'll surely help potential owners in realising the grins and giggles the S series brings

Yes, they are huge fun especially with the sun shining and the roof off.

They all sound like no other ordinary car and demand attention as you wind up the revs through town.

I drove through our village the other Saturday and I think Bib were having a purge on under age drinkers and they had them lined up outside the pub taking their details, as I passed in the S I let rip in 1st and I have never seen so many heads turn so quickly, both Bib and Chavs!

Going through any tunnel is just fantastic, I sometimes turn around and go back again a couple of time ....sad I know but I can't help it....

I can guarantee that I'll turn heads of all ages and sexes wherever I go. The people most likely to look are girls in their early 20's for some strange reason followed by almost any lad under 20 but people upto the age of 70 odd still pivot on a heel and follow the car with their gaze.

The S is a rare sight, so I guess it demands attention.
The only other car I have ever owned that received as much attention was my Pontiac Fiero (mainly from 10 year olds who thought I was Michael Knight of Knight Rider fame). This was followed closely by the 5ltr V8 Thunderbird in candy apple red with a white landau roof, a bit of a rare car too which received much attention. Probably 'cos I looked like a pimp

On behalf of Page3, a combined thread....

Ok, all the other TVR forums seem to be running threads on this, so why should us S'ers miss out? The S might be the 'baby' or 'entry level' Tiv, but only other TVR owners know that!

Lets have some stories please...

I've had:
* Always seem to get let out at junctions, waved at and generally treated very well by other road users.
* My parents always say they 'hear me arriving' 5 minutes before I do
* The boy who yelled NICE CAR MATE at the top of his lungs when I drove past.
* The kids who all came over in Halfords car park to say how great the car was
* The kids I met on a convoy with a Tuscan and Tuscan-S who came over to tell me mine sounded the best
* My fellow neighbours who never spoke to me before, but who now all come for a chat while I'm washing the car.
* The guy in my local garage who pulled up in his brand new Merc AMG and got out to say how great he thought the S was.
* The drivers who move out the way sharpish once they spot me in the rear view mirror.
* The little girl in France who ran over to take a look, followed by her mother exclaiming excited stuff in french.

Loads of others...

Have you noticed that some boy racers like to tuck up behind you on the dual carriageways.

Right foot down and

Had a good fun drive with a Honda CRX a few weeks back as we kept overtaking each other on a long stretch of road, great fun!

I was faster of course but didn't want to spoil his day too much and it was fun keep zipping around each other for a few miles.

Oh, Oh and yes there's another time....

I saw F908Tim parked up near to where I used to live so I turned around a few times and passed by again and I heard a few people saying look there's another one, it was a nice day, roof down exhaust howling and popping etc.

And there was this one time, at band camp, when we all sat around .....sorry a quote from american pie, top film (very funny).

Where is everyone with their happy S moments?

I'll be quiet now

tucked away for the winter?

Picked mine up from the folks the other day (where it had been in partial hibernation whilst I moved house)

Nice things I'd forgotten about:

1) the sound
2) the speed - better than I remember - but I have been driving around in a Ford Ka
3) how low slung it is

Less nice things:

1) the lack of heating
2) the lack of lighting
3) that the passenger door doesn't open... (but that just mine)

Every silver lining has its cloud and all that...
