Tomorrow I pick up my first Caterham (the orange one - R300 Superlight)

How happy am I?

Hired one in April - wasted 6 months thinking about it and a couple of months deciding on and finding the right car. Buying from Sevens and Classics in Tonbridge - great advice and service so far - couldnt't have been better from Callum and Tim.

I will be travelling very gently in the Tonbridge / West Malling area tomorrow and then down to Pistonheads Sunday Service at Goodwood if the weather is halfway reasonable.

All advice / comments welcomed

I am joining the owners club (which seems to elicit strongly mixed opinions). Anything else I should be doing?

Awesome. Enjoy. That looks superb and the Swiss army knife of the Seven world - capable everywhere.

L7C is worth it IMHO as the discounts will cover the membership price, plus you get club trackdays. Blatchat is, I get the feeling, quite cliquey, but if you fly above that, and get your head around just how quickly the best stuff gets snapped up in For Sale, it's great. Everyone is very welcoming.

Oh, and pics. More pics. Many pics!

Well done, looks lovely. I was in Sevens & Classics a few weeks ago chatting to guys and took some cars out. I believe your particular one was only in the showroom for 2 hours before you bought it! wink Good luck with the pickup, I'm sure you'll love it.

Thanks for that; I was doing the same, just going in for a chat about what would suit me....
It was just in, it had not even made it on to the website. They are doing a few bits and pieces to make it right for me (lowered floors being the main change); either makes me a mug or just the right car at the right time and place.

I don't really mind which, I am just going to enjoy it!

Hi Martin

Great news that there are other Caterhams around. Looking forward to joining the ranks, though nervous about taking it easy today! Would be good to meet up if there are any weekend runs....

Cheers

Stuart

Enjoy today Stuart!driving Looks like good weather. Look forward to seeing you on blat chat & once all the salt has gone & it's a little warmer look out for our Sunday morning breakfast blats.
I have owned my sigma road sport for 6 years having built it from a kit.
I still enjoy driving & the novelty has never worn off. Best trip was to Austria June this year & driving some of the Alpine passes.

That looks just about perfect!

Have fun.

Take it easy though (only had 2 accidents in more than 25 years of driving but one was on the first day of ownership.....)

If it was bright orange with a fat, grinning bloke with a bad beanie at the wheel then it was me!

Fabulous - going easy but wow it is addictively good.... off out again - photos once the daylight fades...

Not by me as I have been out cycling this morning, Mrs J saw a bright orange caterham in Hadlow about 10:30, she thought you had a child or small adult on board.
If you are passing I live in Torrington Close in Mereworth, near the church, house with gas van & caravan, do pop in & say hello.

I also have an R300 (Canterbury) and my advice is to go gently on the loud pedal for the first few weeks until you are comfortable with the handling.

It is addictive and have fun.

The LSC is very active in Kent and are a good bunch of guys.
