Why do insurance companies let loonies like Rooney loose in a left hand drive Cadillac SUV 4x4?

I have to say I was a little disappointed to hear he was not flattened by the truck that hit him!

Do they not make a RHD version of the Escalade or is he just stupid. Why did he buy that ugly pointless thing in the first place, there are enough cars out there that handle and go well. Maybe he enjoys posing more than driving.

Nowhere in the report does it say he was at fault!!

Let him drive what he likes.

What next ban PHers from driving sportscars because some of us are a bunch of speed freak hooligans who don't agree with lots of the government set speed limits?

Most PHer's are not accidents waiting to happen. Who ever insured Rooney must be a looney!

by thier nature accidents don't wait to happen ---- if they did we'd spot them like the 'better driver because I subscribe to PH' nonsense -- we have a lot to thank BigAL for but I don't think he guarantees 'driving god' status.

There are enough 'bummer' posts of crashes in the marque forums to support that.

Would you say the same if I got insured on that car? Similar age to Rooney, car nut, driven 400bhp/tonne cars, written articles for PH, too many posts on PH etc?

You don't know whether Rooney's had advanced driving instruction, he could be at Nurburg now in a CarreraGT... we don't know.

crickey... i just stood up for a little tw*t of a footballer...

The truck hit his cars right side - our local news said he was 'saved' by the fact that it was LHD.

Quite a few footballers drive Escalades.

I've seen an Escalade. Nice motor! very impressive. I heard it wasn't Roo's fault. Where does that place us now?

A serious head on collsion might improve his looks. Wouldn't have suffered any brain damage though
