I want to get a Tamiya kit. Looking at either a Hornet, Hot Shot or Wild One. Any experience of which one would be best in terms of robustness and driving fun? Is it worth spending more than the Hornet?
Thanks

You have picked three very different cars there. All have there own strengths so I guess to a degree it depends what you want it for. Hornet is a restyled Grasshopper, which was Tamiya's entry level car back in the day, and is fairly basic, but fairly resilient. Hotshot is 4wd, and actually not bad, if you take into account that the design is probably pushing thirty years old. I would imagine that tuning parts are still available even now if you get the desire to hop it up. Wild Willy is more for fun really. You have to love it but you can't take it seriously.

Sorry, why did I think Wild Willy and not Wild One. Wild One is one of my personal favourites. My first car was a Falcon, but a Wild One was bought second hand after I'd killed the Falcon.

I had a Super Hornet as a kid. Loved it to bits, it was great fun!
