Car Insurance Renewal

I recently received my renewal for my car insurance. It looked very similar to what I paid last year; and it was, but a whole 85p more. Surely this can't be right? I'll ring to make sure. Mind you, I am an old trout (well, 52).

Mine went down again this year...I'am not complaining.

I always do a check on compare the market and tell my insurance company I've found a better deal as they don't want to loose a customer I get a better price...simples.

Just had the opposite experience - Admiral just decided they didn't want my business any more: my multicar policy renewal went from £720 for an X5 40D + 997.2 C2S to £1500 - with no changes to any circumstances. I've just renewed with Porsche insurance for the 911 for £380. 56-yo, both drivers IAM, 1 SP30, living in the wilds of Scotland. I could have got rather cheaper but the Porsche-approved cover does include two UK track days (but NOT 'Ring use ), which is somewhat useful.

I've found Bell very good over the last few years. I do the usual comparison searches at renewal time. Admiral came in very low, but they are a sister company to Bell anyway so they just matched it.

I paid £284 this year for the Boxster Sypder.

Never ever just accept the quote at renewal time.
