Buckled Alloy Wheel
Discussion
Dropped a wheel into a pot hole last week, not intentional you understand but a real pain in the ass when you consider the cost of a replacement tyre (hidden carcass damage?)and of course the point to this post.
Whilst hunting flea bay for a suitable replacement I've come across an advertisment that offers a repair to a buckled wheel.
Question is - Would you use this service? Input from technical experts appreciated.

Depends how badly damaged the wheel is and how competent the repairer is.
Thanks Guy's; the caveat(if you'll excuse the pun) was always that competence was expected, I guess, having tried to rationalise my thoughts, were further along the lines of "what are the metallurgical implications?"Carsie said:

Some places can crack test (x-ray I think) pick a decent estabished place and ask their opinion.I buckled a wheel earlier in the year on a pot hole, bad enough that the tyre wouldn't stay inflated. I took it to a garage and asked them to gently pursuade it to be round again with a rubber mallet. My outlook was that if they crack it I need a new wheel, if I don't try I still need a new wheel so you can't really lose. I'd just take it to your local indy and see what they say. You can only be in the same situation you're in now if they do break it.
