B/Band Modem to Wireless Advice
Discussion
Hi,
My sister has a broadband service from Freeserve, which uses the USB BT/Alcatel broadband modem. She wants to make connectivity within her house out to the Internet wireless, Can anyone suggest the best way to go about doing this ?
Can we get a wireless access point with a USB connection, or is it possible to setup a wireless access point combined broadband router on such a connection. If a router is the option, what information is required to configure it ?
Excuse my ignorance but I've never had any experience of setting up ADSL routers etc.
Many thanks in advance

It's simple. You just need a wireless ADSL router (make sure it's ADSL as it has a built-in modem).
However, each machine will need either a newtork (ethernet) card, or a wireless card. You cannot connect to it through the USB port like you can the ADSL modem from BT/freeserve.
Make sure you get 'Wireless G' as it's much faster.
I used www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk for mine and they were great.
