Rain drain holes
Discussion
Where is the water accumulating?
It isn't necessarily the roof - there are other routes for water to come in. A common one is the brake or clutch fluid reservoir in the driver's side inner wing - water gets in past the silicone seal and runs into the driver's footwell. Similarly, I've heard that the holes for the windscreen washer pipes can cause a similar leak.

It's all in drivers footwell....
I did this: Remove vertical carpet from behind pedals, remove floor carpet. Position one's self with torch somewhere beneath steering wheel, eyes firmly fixed on end of footwell. Provide mate (or Missus) with small watering can, get them to sprinkle water for a few minutes on each inner wing penetration, starting from the front and working back towards the windscreen. My leak presented itself when the brake reservoir was sprinkled
Process of elimination..... (hopefully) Left carpet out for a while after to see if any other leak path existed..... Thankfully it didn't...Chilli

Just been to B and Q to buy some silicon sealant.

Silicon wont do it I'm afraid. It will go on fine and look good/work well for about a month then it will just come away. Most (if not all) leaks originate in the engine bay, the heat in there will kill silicon in very short order.
Sikaflex is the answer, best to do the job once as its messy and takes time to get all the problem areas sealed. You'll be kicking yourself if it starts leaking again in the new year and you have to remove the silicon then do it all again.
I speak from experience.....
ETA This should do the job http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sikaflex-caravan-motorhome...
I have also used tiger seal in the past which you can get from motor factors or maybe even halfords http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tiger-Seal-TIG-NB-Polyuret...

Don't forget there should be a pinch at the bottom of the door seal.
That's there but thanks anyway. Well last weekend I resealed the brake fluid resevoir and the hole where the brake Electical leads come thru next to it as there was an obvious hole and thought job done.
Car parked up since then with Leven Half cover on but torrential rain over past few days.
Went out to car at lunchtime and the drivers footwell completely flooded. I park on a hill facing downwards so all the water pooled by pedals and I reckon I removed 3 to 4 litres of water at least. b
ks.
Back to square one.

PS - I used Tiger Seal last time so I'll try Sikaflex this time but which version of a Sikaflex should I be using to seal these things under the bonnet?
Thanks
I use sikaflex 221 as per the link in my earlier post. After the rain over the last few days I clearly still have a leak, but its gone from being a bucket full of water in the footwell to being a tiny puddle so I'm nearly there !Thanks
