Going on from the Audi thread, what convertable are acceptable. I know some of you still rate the mx5 and boxster's as cars for some one who charges 10 times more for a trim than you pay for a full hair cut.

Personally I like (own) the mx5 and would consider a newer boxster however would dismiss something like a Renault megane convertible.

Talking cars that can be used daily.

I can only think of two manly convertibles...the S2000 and any TVR...and Caterhams of course. Other convertibles just appear to be attention seeking...

You can put a roof on one of these, right? I'd say this kind of car probably sells almost exclusively to men. If you asked Caterham about their buyer demographic, I'd bet that their orders are taken probably 98% by men.

There's a guy drives around near where we live, A4 conv, looks like a doorman, bald, 6.4, built like a brick st house, mandatory white shell suits to enhance the orange complexion. The top's down most of the time, and I just think.
No, no, no, this picture's not right.

Yeah, those subtle and understated TVRs - not attention seeking in anyway.

Op,

Any you like. If anyone wants to look down on you, fk them. My wife has had a boxster for 5 years, and i regularly drive it. The only abuse you ever get is from people in st cars and builders vans - and they'd hate you just as much for a white 3 series or whatever.

Just don't get a 206cc. Not because it's girly, but because it's french.
