Anyone recommend a builder in Berkshire?

We've just submitted planning for a 140m2 extension and are starting to talk to builders. Pease can anyone provide recommendations (either on here or via PM). Our architect has suggested we use a 'small' builder with a good track record rather than a large company to keep the costs down.

I would suggest you call FJ Lane & Sons Windsor based builders, currently restoring a derelict terrace of houses in York Rd. opposite Maidenhead Football Club also building a two story extension on the side of a property on the corner of Oldfield Rd and Forlease Rd. which might be the sort of thing you'd want to look at. The Director in charge is Mark Hayes, a friend of my sons and they have done two bathrooms in our house recently. May not be the cheapest but 100% reliable and their workmen are the sort of chaps you are totally happy having working in your house

Can I suggest that you contact Boshly on PH. His company whilst quite large builders, have a smaller contracts division which we have used on several reasonable sized refurbishments and their work is to a high standard at a competitive price.

They are just completing a refurb for us in Windsor if you wish to see the standard of their work...

Blimey, somebody actually doing something to those York Road houses? They have been left empty for so long I had assumed they were just going to be allowed to fall down. Perhaps the Anchor can be given a lick of paint then too (actually needs a bit more than that!)

For many years I honestly thought The Anchor was derelict, even when once I saw some block drinking outside I assumed he was the local wino'. Then one of my sons said he was meeting his mates for a beer there before football that I realised it was actually a functioning pub
