nursing to O&G
Discussion
My other half is currently a nurse. She enjoys the actual caring for people part of the job but hates the hours, the money and the culture of her current place.
Are there any roles out there where the skills are directly transferable without going back to uni? Not necessarily oil and gas but since we're in Aberdeen it would make sense...
We'd like to think about having a family soon and there's no chance we could do it on current incomes.
Cheers

Rog,
Her background is mostly academic, she has a psychology degree and after working in various positions she re-trained as an adult nurse. She's worked at a few hospitals, NHS & private, her current role sounds to me like a bit of a farce tbh but it's mainly caring for post-op patients so not much to it.
A bit more background -
Her previous post was more challenging in the NHS and she performed very well, she's been told on numerous times by staff and patients that her patient care and paperwork/admin work is the best but she isn't rewarded for it in my view, and the opportunities are thin on the ground at the moment.
