Afternoon all,

Decided to make a thread on here after a recent purchase of a Z4MC. For a bit of background on my motoring history to date:

Aged 17 - 19: 2002 Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec

(No pics on that one)

Aged 19 - 21: 2003 BMW Z4 2.5i roadster

This one was a 2003 in Sapphire Black. Owned this one for two years as my second car and it was great. Only issue in the period I owned it was a broken roof motor (£750 frown) but that aside it never put a foot wrong. However it was always an M Coupe I wanted a knew that as soon as that was feasible the move would happen. When I bought the 2.5i it was all I could get insured on at the time engine wise.

Current/21 - date (bought two weeks ago): 2007 BMW Z4 M Coupe

Excuse the dirtiness.. Spent the time driving not cleaning so far! It will get a good going over on Wednesday however.

So bought this two weeks ago. 2007 car in Sapphire black with Imola Red Nappa leather/Carbon effect dash. Has all the bells and whistles, including DSP Speaker system, park sensors, Intravee, built in Nav and more. Has been a car I wanted since I first saw them launch when I was 14, 7 years ago! The car is everything I had hoped it would be and hope to keep hold of it for a few years yet.

The engine, as has been said a million times of the S54, is just fantastic. The sound (while could be perhaps a tad louder for me) is great and drives brilliantly. The Hydraulic steering is also a million times better than the electronic system on the roadster. So much more 'feel' to it!

Not much planned for it at the moment except to get it onto a track in the new year. I have reinstated the rear M badge but not sure if I prefer with/without yet so may remove that again. An English plate will probably happen at some point as well, just something about the Irish one I am not keen on (came with car). A set of OEM CSL's are also in the cars future but not until the current tires (brand new all round before purchase) have been used haha. If I manage to find a reasonably priced GruppeM it may get treated to one of those at some point also, otherwise.. Pretty much as-is for the time being. It came with the OEM Strut brace so that is one thing that doesn't need seeing to.

All in all, as you can probably tell, I am smitten with the thing!

Thanks for taking a look,

Chris

I did think that when I bought it!

I did look at moving it (haven't actually took it off yet) but would it not sit right over the filler cap? That just seems like a pain in the ass haha. That said it doesn't look like it does in yours.

its no-where near the filler cap buddy let me crab another close in pic..., when you get chance it it around, te 6 end nuts need to be Tq'd to 34nm, no more as they will snap.... i tend to Tq to around 33 -ish for alittle leway, hope this helps, great car btw, you'll love it, the engine is just a work of art, with a few choice mods they can really be transformed into the car it should have been from the off!!

here!!

Lovely. I've been keeping half an eye on these for the future, I think the running costs for the mileage I do may be a little steep for now though. You've got my chosen spec too tongue out Look forward to future updates smile

You know when you go imaginary car shopping, 5K, 10K,15K etc..... I always end up looking at these as my 15k-20k car : ) I am a huge fan of the bread van Z3M coupe and while they have become more collectible and higher mileage this is what I turn to. I hope you enjoy it!

Mines in blue with black leather please driving

Yeah as much as I would love one of those... They are a tad cost prohibitive!

Of course, was just messing tongue out

What sort of suspension work etc is suggested? Nothing much will be happening until the new year but a shopping list would be handy to have!

I did however fit cupholders today as for some reason the car was specced without them. I won't bother picturing that haha.
