all,

im after a little bit of advice i noticed before i put the car away for the winter that the monaro does not seam to be running as well as it once once and that both O2 Lambda Sensor's are starting to rattle, i would take this as a sign they need replacing and could have a impact on how the car is running (no engine fault codes or light)

assuming i replace both sensors do they need to be replaced with a specific part or will a standard 4 pin GM O2 Lambda Sensor from flabay for £15 quid do the job?

They could just have worked loose (as they often do), and need nipping back up tight?

Typical really, as every other part of the exhaust seems to seize up and won't come apart. The one piece that you want to stay tight..... hehe

I bought of these guys http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-Holden-VZ-VE-V8-LS1-...

Had them in for 12 months now no dramas at all with them they are a major sponsor on an Aussie forum so they have a lot to loose if they sell st which they don't couldn't justify 75 quid each just my opinion of course

Check the plug on your existing sensor as there are a couple of differant types ie 3 pin 4 pin and you should be right

Ferret give either MF, Camberly Auto a call or try Eurocar parts. These are not specific to the monaro

Do you know what other cars use the same pre and post cat sensors if they aren't Monaro specific. It would make searching for parts much easier if you do as not many sites list the Monaro, or when they do don't list many bits for it.

none of the o2 sensors are specific!

You need to find the OEM part number and any Vauxhall dealer will provide this. They are not magic sensors created purely for a very small niche market car. I had to replace some years ago and I simply phoned up, got the part number got the oem number and went to camberly and paid 50% of the price for a fully warranted (ie non-chinky ebay special).

I havent owned a ro in 5 years, my memory goes as far as this morning for specifics.

You could go to ls1tech, EFIlive or any of the LS specific forums and ask on there but you have to make sure you get your model correct with the overseas one. But as said, MF stock them and you're not going to get them much cheaper unless you roll the dice and go with some ebay Rambda sensors

I'm not too sure how you can say the link I posted wasnt the oem specific I actually dealt with the company instead of buying through eBay I'm pretty sure monkfish sell the gm branded ones at 75 a piece which were probably made in china or some foreign cheap arse country any way it's neither here or there I just wasn't paying 75 quid each for them at the end of the day

If I buy from Monkfish and it breaks, I take it back to monkfish. I'd never buy a part from ebay as it is false economy if they fail or there is a fault. I had 3 widebands replaced inside a year.....

Can anyone confirm/deny the above? Rockauto seem to have the above listed as downstream, and I want pre-cat sensors (don't make me climb under my car to check the connectors!).
