Nipping across the road to the Waikiki DFS to see if they have anything.

Has to be:

1. Very light
2. Great pic quality
3. errrr, nice design

Make, model and rough prices much appreciated.

No budget.

Just after something very small and slim that takes high quality pics. A good zoom is important too.

Dabs are doing some kind of deal where if you are buying an HP digital camera they will also give you a return free flight to Europe and if you buy an accessory they give you a free return flight to the US as well. Could be the next hoover fiasco but worth checking out. Think it is www.dabs.com/uk and there's a lozenge on there somewhere.

The most popular make of camera, selling in large numbers before Christmas, is made by a company called Gatso... unfortunately they tend to go on fire in operational situations.

I just got a Canon Ixus 500. Really nice picture quality. £211 inc from Canon Outlet on ebay.

You didn't say whether you were after a film camera or a digital one ...

Sorry mate,

Absolutely, positively has to be digital. I travel alot and I always forget to bring one of my cameras with me.

I am looking out on to Waikiki beach and the Pacific ocean from the apartment terrace and there's not a camera in sight! Mates are demending pics of the things (totty) I can see from here so I need to buy something right now!

I think you should post these 'wildlife' and 'scenery' shots in here mate

Re. cameras... any by the big makes should do you fine. Canon IXUSs are awesome

Don't know but 'slim' and 'big zoom' might be mutually exclusive.

Sony DSC P150...

Compact, good pictures (7mp), reasonable manual control...

...besides, Mrs F is getting one too
