It'd be easier to start a thread in readers cars to tell us you have a V6 Exige Cup wink

I go home if it doesn't stop raining because the only way that I fit in my car with a lid on is if I have the roof off.

Quick hands, nice driving! As an aside, did the marshalls give you any warnings for excessive oversteer? I know they normally don't like you dicking about too much on trackdays.

Because they want to reuce the risk of their cars being damaged through no fault of their own? In the wet there's a much bigger risk someone will misjudge their speed/braking ability and hit you...

Good fun but not as good fun as in the wet and it's easily spun too as you nearly found out a few times in the vid. Still it's a great way of getting an Exige sideways!

i dont go home, i stay out! bmws love going sideways, and its easier on the car's brakes and tyres. however, javelin dont care for any drifty drifty moments at all. got black flagged three times at bedford for having the back step out, even though i never span the car, while all around me were having constant grass excursions.

I'm genuinely interested as to why people leave wet trackdays early so thanks for the genuine replies.

I accept that some trackdays take a dim view to hooniganism, some have a 'two spins and you're out' rule but I think that particular day became so empty I had the place to myself for lap after lap. I guess they figured it was OK providing I didn't put anyone else's car at risk. Either way, good on them. I always pulled over on the rare occasion that there was anyone behind me.

The car was running some fairly worn Pirelli P-Zero Trofeo's. Actually their grip in the damp and wet was impressive for a trackday tyre. But as it got wetter and wetter, it got so slippery it was ridiculous. Aquaplaning on the straights, the car was all over the shop. I pretty soon gave up on trying to drive fast and decided it was the perfect opportunity just to have a bit of fun and learn a bit more about the outer limits of the car in a safe environment. Clearly I'm no Chris Harris, but he didn't get to where he is today without plenty of practice did he?

I had a day like that at the beginning of the year was great fun, I was the only one on track for a good half hour.

Because this can happen: http://youtu.be/lCQYm0MDpxo

It's a mate of mine who really knows what he's doing & even he got caught out that day.

Agreed. Biggest risk on a trackday is some wally in a £500 stripped-out BMW 325i who doesn't care whether he takes it home or not...

Love a wet track day - easier on the car and myself to experiment at 10/10ths and beyond.

I personally give up due to a much increased risk of someone else smashing into you
I have every confidence in my own ability to restrain myself when conditions are crap, but I don't know everyone else at the track day had you only need one person to overcook it and ruin your car

The only time an old Dolomite Sprint gets to pass a 300 bhp Saab is when conditions are this bad.
I loved it but it was scary for me and later I am passed by a very sideways Ford Mexico.
