What posh snacks do you like?

One thing I love about Christmas is that the price of stuff like gravadlax tends to come down a bit. I have a few packs in the fridge along with the gravadlax sauce (mustard & dill). Cost is £4.80 for 200g, and £1.99 for a tub of the sauce. Still not cheap as snacks go, but oh so delicious!

My wife makes the gravlax in our household.

Christmas Eve is often lobster and champagne.

We also like foie gras and have gone free range relying on the sheer greed of geese and ducks!

Forman's smoked salmon on brown toast, buttered and cut into squares. It has to be Forman's - nothing else will do.

It was compared (Forman's) with others earlier this year, and wiped the floor with the opposition.

A genuine case of getting what you pay for it seems.

As for a festive snack, mine is a breakfast of devilled kidneys and Brandy/or Islay *BIG* malt , on Boxing day morning.

Tends to cause a few grimaces from others, but heck , its once a year, and I love it.

Baklava - although virtually impossible to buy good stuff in the UK.

Different definition of snacks to me.

Hickory smoked nuts and seeds. Now that's a snack.

Gravadlax is a starter or a light meal if properly served with a couple of boiled potatoes and thinbread.
