One of those just wondering questions i'm afraid,

I know that the RSR was a more racing focused car (i think ?) But were there any engine/ chassis differences between them.

I have a LHD 993RS Clubsport which is also known as a RS-R in the UK. There was a great article in Excellence magazine in 1999 specifically about the Clubsport, but for the record the differences I can remember to the standard RS are:

Full welded in Matter roll cage
Black Nomex seats
Schroth harnesses
Solid lightweight flywheel
Sintered clutch
Steel syncros
Revised 5/6 gear ratios
No interior trim apart from door panels and full centre console
Wind up windows, no radio
90 litre fuel tank
GT2 front wing spoiler
Supercup style rear spoiler
Electrical cut out switch, pull on dash
Heater blower deleted

No clubsports came from the factory as standard with a fire extinguisher system, although you could order practically anything from Weissach if you wished.

I suppose the RSR is probably better termed "911 Cup 3.8 RSR" and was the last version of the 993 Cup cars built in 1997 by Porsche Motorsport. This version has the gorgeous mini-GT2 style bolt-on arches (anyone have some of these spare?) covering 9.5" & 11" BBS centrelock wheels. The spec on these cars can easily be found elsewhere on the net if you do a search on Google.

"911 Cup 3.8 RSR"

That spec, apart from the 90 litre tank and spoilers, is exactly as a 964 Cup Car.

Excellent response as ever 9M.....it looks like a cut/n/paste from your recent response to a similar query on rennlist, do you keep this on file?

At the risk of appearing a pedantic ar5e, i thought my memory was playing tricks on me until I checked the
911 Carrera RS "supplement to drivers manual"

Fuel tank; lhd approx 92 litres including a reserve of approx 12.5 litres.
rhd approx 72 litres including a reserve of approx 10 litres.

those extra couple of litres have got to be worth a couple of extra corners on a track day...ar5e mode switched off now

Hence the inaccuracy of the memory.

Who cares what happened yesterday, it's what is happening tomorrow that matters.

Yes, it's the only day that's real! (Cue the maths-Einstein / philosophical bit.)
