I'm looking for a new tv in the new year and I've decided I'd like a 42" plus with 3+ hdmi and 100hertz+ for less than 350 if possible. I don't need smart tv or freeview etc. I only using it for gaming and movies. I don't even have a tv license since I don't watch any tv. Please let me know if you have a decent suggestion. Tesco have had some good deals on both Sony and Toshiba ones a tad smaller but all had to few hdmi our only 50hertz.

Thanks

I'm sorry to say if its got a tuner you will need a licence, unless it is analogue only which I doubt you can buy now. If you can get a Freesat only TV and have no dish you may be able to persuade the magistrate that you don't need a licence.

If you have no aerial, sat receiver or LAN cable connected you can use a TV as games display without a TV license. The TV license is for the right to watch television, not for the right to own one. http://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one...

I fully registered not needing one over a year ago, it's a non issue, I'm just after decent tvs

I think you'll find it a big ask to get a current model with no freeview \ freesat tuner. For gaming I've heard awesome things about the Sony W6 series LCD's ultra low input lag.

Check out the lag results on HDTVtest. That would be my recommendation as it hasn't got all the bells or whistles. Failing that look at last years models and have a look at Richer Sounds. They usually have some good stuff in clearance.

Best of luck T1b
