All 4 wheels robbed on my car, happy christmas!
Discussion
Bunch of theiving b******s.
Came downstairs this morning to find my 3 month old BMW convertible without any wheels, cheers for that.
They've done a professional job, 2 jacks on one side, 2 bricks on the other.
I guess they have the tools for so called locking wheel nuts?
My main worry is that when i get the new ones on, they'll come back and do it again. Any sugestions on best deterrants for this sort of thing or nothing you can do?

Nasty business. Not hard to get around locking wheel nuts though - bash an impact socket over the top and they'll soon come off... I saw an Audi RS5 the other day which had been left on 2 stones one side and its brake discs on the other... Nasty.
Not much you can do to stop them either, consider fitting CCTV?

What a nightmare. I wrongly thought alloys didn't get nicked a lot these days. I guess wheels are worth a lot. They'll be on the 'bay in no time. I'd keep an eye out.
Did they leeave the jacks and bricks behind? I guess it is better than it just being sat on the brake discs. Is there much other damage?
I'd look at CCTV, security lights etc. Was the car on your driveway?

The only suggestion I can make is to get a couple of sets of aftermarket locking wheelnuts and to put 2 lockers on each wheel.
That's bad luck and feel sorry for you.I would look at different locking wheel nuts but stick to one per wheel. Locking nuts should not be tightened to the same torque as standard nuts, so having 2 per wheel might leave you vulnerable - although I stand to be corrected!

WHAT??? Steve

it's a wheel nut, all wheel nuts should be tightened to the same torque, otherwise you are going to stress the wheel as it will be clamped tighter round the remaining nuts, whilst I accept locking nuts can be difficult to remove, I would never under-tighten them!!!
ETA - OP, this sucks, double locking nuts would be good but might cause you problems in the future (two locking nut adapters to loose etc

I did wonder about the alarm actually but maube they just did it without much movement so didn't trigger anything.
I had the wheels stolen of a car about 15 years ago and they didn't set the alarm off. They used a couple of bricks and a scaffold pole to lever car up gently without setting the alarm off.As soon as I read the title I thought bet its a BMW
I think there are circa only 10 types of BMW wheel lock nut and its pretty easy to get all they keys.
Alloys and tyres are easy to sell on and worth decent money (look at ebay)
When you get new wheels, get a decent 3rd party locking nut (they still arent great) .
Can OEM BMW car alarms have their sensitivity increased to account for being jacked? WOuld be worth doing that if poss

Can anyone suggest somewhere to get some aftermarket locking wheel nuts or just google it??
Assume they are bolts rather than nuts on a BMW.http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/performance/wheel-nu...
or Halfords, Motor Mania, any Motor Factors should sell them too. Or as the previous poster says, Ebay.

t. I guess they were BMW locking wheel nuts? There aren't that many combinations so they will probably have every one.
