Had a water leak, so tried the smoke machine test.....
Couldn't find any leaks in the engine bay etc etc the only ones were between the door and window.

The water seams to have come in at the front of the door and run down the seal, anyone got any suggestions on what to do?
PS it was loads not just a bit, over an inch

hmmm, its a bugger i know. Mine was leaking on the passenger side, where yours is wet but also around the speaker in the corner of the door card. Comparing the 2 sides of the car, the door seal had been replaced. At the top of the carbon strip on the A pillar there is a small feature that the seal should terminate into. It did on the drivers side but on the passenger side it was left too long and tucked downwards. I guess whoever did it probably thought it was better like this, what it actually did was chanel all the water down the inside of the window, I trimmed it back & its fine now...

There is a tendency for water to get into the "U" of the door seal where it fits onto the frame and run down inside it like a pipe only to drip out at the bottom front corner of the frame. It can get in anywhere round the frame but most likely at the top where the seal bends.
I eventually cured mine by replacing the door seals. Putting silicone sealant into the channel of the seal before fitting it to the door seemed like a good idea but does NOT work. It stops the seal from gripping properly and is a bugger to clean out afterwards!

Right I think I've found the problem with the passenger side.

This small kink, for some reason the water was running down the seal and flowing out here.
Even with the hose on full blast it was only dripping so I'm still not sure how so much water collected over night
I've cut a very small hole just before it and one near the drain cutting in the door and it seems to have stopped.
Drivers side I'm still not sure about, I couldn't find a leak anywhere even when spraying the engine bay and pointing the hose directly at the known weak points. The drivers side wasn't so bad but it is still a bit damp
Its going in for a service next month so will get all the door seals done then

Just make sure it is rain water and not coolant in that area, like i said i did about 600 miles that weekend and lost less than 1L and it caused that in the cabin.

I did also check the coolant level as well just to be sure.

The door seals are a pain, replace them and see how it does, i fitted them then sealed around the top lip of the seal near the hinge, worked for me,
It is round the top hinge area that mine always has problems with, I have to change the seals about every 3 years.
The water runs off the bonnet leaks past the seal and then runs down it to the bottom corner just like you have shown.
