Without wild cams, throttle bodies and probably a high-comp piston set, no chance!

ETA: Here's the page about the TRD 3S-GE engine, 270hp with a high-comp piston set, throttle bodies, cams, remap etc. smile

244 bhp is possible from a N/A 2.0 but it would require throttle bodies, some pretty wild race cams, a lot of head work and an aftermarket ECU. You can certainly get that kind of power out of a Ford 2 litre Duratec so i'd imagine it might be possible from the MR2 engine.

Does that car have 244 bhp? Well he mentions uprated spark plugs and induction kit and an exhaust so hell yes...laugh

Thats, uh, optimistic! Even if it was the BEAMS version, 45bhp gain from a filter and exhaust? rofl

Its possible as said already but the seller hasn't listed what's been done so unlikely.

He's concentrated on an induction kit and decat which won't do much on its own without other mods.

Don't forget the spark plugs! Worth 20 bhp on their own...

The maximum possible power is 9.694x10^-3 x bore^2 x number of cylinders.

It's an 86mm bore. On an 86mm bore that's 287bhp, so 244bhp is technically possible, however unlikely with the modifications listed.

At first I'd have said he'd done the 3.0 Camry conversion which is very very common and surprisingly cheap. However, He can't even spell the word 'Japanese' in the auction title, so I doubt he can even count to 244 tbh.

So, its probably what, 150/160 in reality.

No way that is 244 bhp.
