Ordered three weeks ago. Went for a slightly bizarre spec.

White
3dr
Auto
Red leather
Black wood dash
Business nav
Black display full
Harmon Kardon
Visibility pack
Sun protection pack
Comfort pack

Arrives in 4 weeks. Didn't quite realise how quick they are, YouTube videos confirm its a proper fast car. Coming from a Cooper S and DC2 it will be interesting to see how quick it is.

Pictures to come.

Haven't seen or heard of any going for £40k, the most expensive one on the PH classifieds is up for £37,990, and that is an AC Schnitzer one.

I really like the idea of these cars but can I ask why you both chose auto over manual?

My brother has just recently got one of these. I was pleasantly surprised by how nippy it is. I don't think you will be disappointed!

The auto is the done thing with these cars isn't it.

For me, its a commuter car for fast a road and motorway work in rush hour and auto mode is great for that. But other than that its a great auto box too, the torque converter is only there for setting off and stopping essentially, the rest of the time you are on clutches it seems.

The only odd thing for me, is coming from 10 years of 6 speed, manual OR auto tiptronic, 8 gears in manual mode seem too much!

Not driven one but got to be an auto. I wanted one anyway, but review of that box are epic.

I ordered on Nov 25th and I'm being told end of Jan, but not so optimistic as I was a couple of weeks ago.

Interesting. If it moves to March that's fine, don't want it to go much further...

BTW, I ordered Alpine White 3 door with auto and sports suspension.
Reigned in some of the options but went for sun protection and comfort pack (?) for cruise control and front / rear parking sensors)

Great fun to drive. The 8 speed never feels like it is too many gears. I thought it would. On the autobahn it is perfectly matched, with the engine revving hard and gear change so fast. This auto gearbox is a game changer.

No one pays £40k, more like £250pm on lease which is cheap. Nice cars.

I have one in white - very fast indeed. Cheap lease deals to be had but the spec tends to be relatively basic or else it's over two years with a bigger deposit. Great bang for your buck with this car. I went from a Boxster 2.7 and Corsa VXR.

Good choice Matt! Mine should hopefully be here in March, I was a bit tightfisted with the options - Estoril blue, heated seats and comfort pack.

Hope you enjoy when she arrives OP! I have lately developed a burning desire for one of these and although I can't afford one just yet, in 2-3 years I will be able to!

My ideal would be a "Superman Spec" 3dr auto with a few toys. smile
