997 gt3rs rear wing

my last big project for next year is to replace the standard wing on my 997 gt3 gen1 with a gt3 rs gen1 rear wing rough talk says this is approx 7to8 k for oe parts from buying to fitting this does not put me of as the standard set up just does not do it for me., so main parts from what i understand are engine bay lid and three part carbon rear wing other parts are transferable is this correct does anybody no or done this

wow!! who ever ownes this or drives it must have a good sense of humer not the thing i had in mind but it takes all sorts i think i would strugle not taking the p??s if i saw this

Save the 8k, find another 12 and buy an RS. Can't help but think you won't see any tangible gains from changing the spoiler other than make the car harder to move on? Just my thoughts, but its your car of course.

a bit late for that! i bought a 997 gt3 gen 1 comfort pack car with pccb what i wanted put a o/e cage in got the carbon backed leather sports seats for it carbon console etc so just reqr the last bit and iam done the parts already fitted was north of 10k car selling not a issue got other cars to use

Phil Hindley at Tech 9 did similar for me. We put a Porsche Supercup rear wing on a 997.1 RS, all fitted and painted it was half that price.

Does anyone know if the 997.1 rs spoiler fits the 997.2 boot lid ?
I have the latter and have considered this change .

just looking back regarding the cup wing you had fitted to the rs by tech 9. regarding the cost if you already owned gt3rs and wanted cup wing if that would fit your boot lid that would be the big cost saver over what iam looking at as gt3 boot lid no good for fitting that style of wing ?

No, the wing did not mate to the standard boot lid, I had to get a cup boot lid too. But a lot of the factory race stuff is less expensive than you'd think. It's made of plastic and fibreglass, not carbon fibre like the road car rs stuff. I'll try and upload an image. .
