Or Bratwurst in my case. Nevertheless I think we can agree this is humble fare but how can such a thing be amongst the very best culinary delights known to mankind?

Feel free to express your admiration herein.

Agreed. Discovered earlier this year at Zurich ice hockey.

Then a couple of weeks ago a German Christmas market started near my office, and it's been a couple a week for lunch.

Awesome. Kasebratwurst are the shizzle.

Spent time in Hamburg a couple of winters ago, my diet was based on bratwurst and gluhwein with the odd Radeburger here and there. Loved it

1/2m long Slammerwurst for me smile In fact I think I'm going to have one for lunch!

And Sway you only discovered them at the ice hockey??? Its Xmas in Zurich, get your arse along Bahnhoffstrasse to McDirt and Globus just behind it and the stalls outside. Superb Bratwurst there!

Yep, and I can confirm they are authentic, having grown up in Germany. I love bratwurst.

Poppet, you poor thing. How long have you been embarrassing yourself in restaurants?

Red is for chips and never ever for egg.

For pig derivatives and yolky based goodness, brown is de rigueur.

Correct. Although Mayo is for chips and red is only ever mixed with Mayo to make pink. smile

Kaiserkreiner (something like that) from Vienna. Its amazing. Meaty sausage with lumps of cheese set in the meat so when it cooks the cheese goes all oozey.

Served stuffed inside a hollowed out loaf with ketchup and mustard.

Cant get enough of them whenever im out that way.

Ive tried to get them over here but cant find anywhere local and mail order sausage seems wrong.

Backs to the wall gents, we've got light in his loafers mayo toting Frenchy hipster amongst us.

Red or brown for a chap, a lady is of course permitted a delicate squeeze of PVA on her pommes frites.
